  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Our common ancestors are apes? Or, were we created in God's image, fully man and woman? What was he thinking?

New York Cardinal Says Adam & Eve May Have Been Lower Life Forms

NEW YORK (CWN) - Cardinal John O'Connor of New York said in a homily at St. Patrick's Cathedral on Sunday that Adam and Eve may have been not quite human.
"It is possible that when the two persons we speak of as Adam and Eve were created, it was in some other form, and God breathed life into them, breathed a soul into them -- that's a scientific question," Cardinal O'Connor was quoted as saying in Monday's New York Daily News.
The cardinal's comments come a month after Pope John Paul told a group of scientists that, as a hypothesis, evolution may have some validity as long as it recognizes God as the ultimate source and motivator of life and creation. volutionCardinal O'Connor said he does not expect his comments to cause any change in New York's Catholic school curriculum that already teach evolution, but added that schools might emphasize the "spiritual dimension" more, along with the role God played in creating the human soul, which distinguishes man from animals.
The Church continues to reject any notions of social Darwinism that says only the powerful are fittest for survival in modern societies, the cardinal added.

The two "PERSONS" were created in some other form? How's that?

Many might see the Adam & Eve story as figurative because they could not imagine Adam being able to breathe right with one of his ribs missing! :D

First I hope no man of God would go there. That being said the best advise I know to give is as Lynn 73 posted

Forget that drivel and believe God is my advice.

Any teacher or other person professing to beleive in Christ and be a follower of Him has bur one yard stick to be measured by........God's Word.
If your tacher, Pastor, Minister, Bishop or any other title deviates from God's Word count it will will be God's Word which is correct.
As always my love to all and May God Bless. :prayer: :prayer:

So can you explain to me why we should take a piece of Writing that is treated as an Epic Religious Ballad and treat it as a Historical Documentary?

Peace,

Windlord.

You do not believe in creation.
That's all. That's enough.

You know, last time I checked the requirements for salvation, they didn't involve answering the question "Do you believe in a literal six day Creation" with a yes, or a no.

Peace,

Windlord.

The Catholic church denies creation. How does that figure? That is the pulse of scripture. Without it = nothing.

Actually the Catholic Church does no such thing. Catholics are free to believe in a six day creation, in an Old Earth Creation, or in Evolution. Why? Because how you believe the world was formed doesn't matter as long as you believe in who formed it.

Peace,

Windlord.

Well, the RCC does not. According to the good Cardinal, you came from a lower life form.

How and Who are impossible to separate. The Who says how in Genesis. Deny the Who and the how is of no consequence.
I believe the Who made it in six days. Because the Who says so in scripture.
And two of the things the Who made during that time, is man and woman in HIS image. His image is a lower life form?
The Who finished His work at the end of the sixth day. Finished it. Lower life form suggests the Who left something unfinished when He finished His work and declared if done and good.
That's just the way it is, eh?
