Howl's Moving Castle

It's been at the theater near my house for a long time, and I finally found time to go see it. I love Miyazaki's work! The animation of the castle itself was absolutely fantastic, like some kind of evolved Monty Python style cartoon.

The story was kind of weak at the end though. Super-happy fairy tale endings are boring. Or more specifically, they're not compelling, emotional, thought-provoking, or anything else that I think great art should be. Still a great movie though. I have to go see it again, since I was unlucky enough to sit in front of a group of little kids who talked the whole time. Darn kids.

I'd really like to see this and Steamboy. Saw some artwork from both a few minutes ago, it looked great. Too bad about the ending though, I know what you mean about the extremely happy fairy tail ending.

I loved it!! My husband took me as a surprise, I have been following Miyazaki's work since I was little. This movie was great, and I enjoyed it in the english version. Sometimes that changes it quite a bit for me.

I didn't see the English version, but I caught hold of a fansubbed version online. I liked it a lot. I'm planning on buying it when it gets released in America.
