Howard Stern is a "shock jock" -- he's long been known as a person who says outrageous things on the radio for their shock value, so that people will tune in to see what outrageous thing he says next. So, okay, he's said one more shocking thing. Nothing newsworthy here.

“If it was up to me, anyone unvaccinated would not be admitted to a hospital,” Stern said.

“If you don’t get [the vaccine] in my America, all hospitals would be closed to you. You’re going to go home and die.”

My wife went to the library where they were distributing free N-95 masks inside the Library.
People not wearing masks were turned away at the door.
I sympathise with both sides of the conflict, but the legal side a bit more.

that seems to be a common thought among elitists

Stern assumes that the unvaccinated are aware that they are endangering all of us. Seems to me that few (if any of them) know this.

They are victims themselves, pawns of people who want power and are using the pandemic to overturn an America they have come to hate. Maybe to return to an America that they hope might exist again.

So, do you agree with Stern? Do you say that, for example, hospitals should check the vax status of people who are in severe auto accidents, and leave the unvaxxed to die on the side of the road?

Perhaps you didn't read carefully. Read it again, carefully:

Do you often make up crazy stories, and suggest that others believe them? Or was this just a momentary lapse in judgement?

So, you disagree with Stern? That's not as clear in your original post as you may think it was, but I'm grateful for the clarification.

You might be right. Ivy league-educated elitists in the Trump administration decided to abandon a nationwide covid response in favor of a state-let response, because it was blue states that were getting hit the hardest (at the time) and they thought the politics worked in their favor that way.

I know shock is $ to him, but there really are people that feel this way. Very sad and disturbing, but also revealing of the mindset we're dealing with in these days. I call it the age of sociopathy (2 Tim 3:1-5)

And now that it's red states like Florida and Mississippi taking the hit, perhaps they're re-evaluating their strategy.

The other day, Desantis said that his biggest regret was in not pushing back against early closure recommendations. So... who knows what their thinking is these days.

I personally believe that everyone who can get the vaccine should do so. Our hospitals are filled with COVID patients, and the vast majority of those COVID patients in ICUs and on ventilators are unvaccinated. Frankly I believe that those who refuse to get vaccinated without a valid health reason, are selfish and self-centered.

Having said that, hospitals should not refuse to admit anyone who needs medical care. Fortunately, Howard Stern is not a medical doctor and has no authority to turn his thoughts into policy.

I'm with you on this. There is a tendency on the part of most people to regard anti-vaxxers as evil people who don't care if they infect others. From what I can see, most of them are victims themselves, gullible people who get led into risky behavior, for which many of them will die needlessly.

Would you refuse ICU space to someone who had cholesterol and did nothing to take care of herself? Or a diabetic who didn't take care of himself? Granted, those refusing to get vaccinated also endanger others, but I don't think most of them are informed enough to know this.

Here is an enlightened and reasonable physician, regarding anti-vaxxers and his need to be compassionate with them, when they become ill:

Patients that choose to remain unvaccinated with the understanding that current data shows doing so will prevent hospitalization, despite their deep-rooted reasons for skepticism, are really no different than those who are noncompliant with their medications, diets, and lifestyle. Accepting my limitations with this complex problem and treating it as I treat all the other difficult to manage pathologies, helps free up my compassion. A burden has been lifted, a weight that has been dragging me down for months. I will not justify their choices or agree with their decisions, but I will care for them and continue to encourage them to do the right thing. To those that have put pressure on themselves to convince people to get vaccinated, please ensure that you are not compromising your own mental health in the process. You can only do your best, take it one day at a time. Some people will never agree with medical recommendations. The best thing we can do is keep offering them the data and hope they eventually choose wisely. When they don’t, and if they fall ill, we will care for them the best we can with what we have, with compassion.

Compassion fatigue and the unvaccinated

He's got the problem fixed. Florida now hides daily death reports.

And now, you know what Biden has come to the conclusion that the Federal Government cannot effectively control Covid and is turning it back to the states. Another example of the incompetence of the Biden administration fixing something that was not broken. Biden declares no federal solution to unrelenting waves of COVID-19

See above. Gov Ron botched the pandemic in Florida, the latest surge is filling ICUs. He's hiding daily deaths, but it will come out, albeit a month or so later. It would have been worse, if local governments and schools had not defied DeSantis and protected their people anyway. When DeSantis tried to withhold funds from the schools, Biden just gave the money directly to them anyway.
