The Catholic Church says it is the true Church of God, referencing Ephesians 3:21 among other passages that they believe says that in order for a Church to be the true Church of God, it must have existed since the time of the Apostles. They say that all other Churches and newer Churches cannot claim this.

Thank you in advance.

No where in the NT does it mention the Catholic church……end of debate. The true church is not built upon organization or carnal things, it is spiritual. I leave the Cathoilics to themselves personally, if Christ cannot persuade them of their many errors I sure can't, but sometimes I have met or ran into former catholics who found the Truth and stopped being catholics for the glory of God, putting their trust and faith in Christ, no longer hanging to the pope or mary.

It's a fallacy that is invented by the church. They have to then make it that Peter was the first pope, and there is no indication of anything apart from RCC teaching that is true. The church today does trace it's roots back to Jesus, that's why we study His teachings.

The Catholic Church says it is the true Church of God

The church of God is the true church. It is not a denomination, neither does it belong to any single assembly. And membership comes through God and the revelation of Christ.

When Jesus taught about the kingdom, which the saints inherit, he spoke of the church and the offenses to come, exhorting and instructing us to be blameless, that we not cause offense (Matthew 18:15). He was speaking to his disciples - Christians.

He instructed us to seek peace, as when a brother trespass against another, to the extent of taking the matter to him and then to the church for them to judge. Which church was he speaking of?

The church at Jerusalem, at Antioch, Rome, Ephesus, Galatia...or the church in the house of Priscilla and Aquila, were all the church of God. None of them claimed to be the true church, or better, or more perfect in knowledge, etc., nevertheless they dealt with the same issues that cause divisions.

I think a church without spot or blemish is being built right before our eyes if we're in it, to the praise of God and not men.

Hi canihunt,

"I'm sure you believe that to be true, but I don't agree." Usually works OK. If they persist about it then you can say, "there is only one 'church' that Jesus, through the Holy Spirit, is building upon the earth and that is the total of all born again believers. Those who are born again are the 'church'. Are you born again?" If they reply 'yes' then you can assure them that they are part of the 'church'. If they say 'no' or 'I don't know' or 'what the heck does that mean?', they you can tell them that they might not be a part of the church. Jesus said, "Many will cry out, 'Lord, Lord! Did we not perform great miracles in your name and in your name drive out demons?'" Jesus says that he will turn to them and say that he doesn't know them and that they are to depart from him. Go and learn what this means. Denominationalism or the age of some earthly organization doesn't even enter into the equation'

God bless you.
In Christ, Ted
