Finding a publisher, I'm in the middle of writing a book, and I would like to find potential publishers...

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I meant whether you intend to publish through one of the well established publishing houses, or look into something like a POD., or Publish on Demand, which posts your book online, and prints copies based on orders for the book. With a POD you do your own marketing. With a regular publisher, they do everything, but they are very picky about what they publish, thus the need for an agent.
Whatever you do, never, never, NEVER pay someone to publish your story. That is almost always a scam.

Yeah, i looked at a couple of companies online, even a christian, owned company, and they were saying I would have to pay a percentage to have the book published, I was like, haha, no thanks.
So if I did a POD, would they be able to be sold in bookstores like borders, or somewhere like that?

It's possible, but I don't think it happens very often. Someone would have to sell it to them. Someone, of course, being you. In the US the POD I've heard the most about is Lulu.
