  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How Will You Spend Christmas?

Hi Everyone,

Just wondering how everyone will be spending Christmas. Particularly church services. I will probably end up going to our candlelight communion service alone :( . I'm really praying that my husband will want to join, but I'm not counting on it. I just keep praying the Lord will soften his heart.

I was saved on Easter Day 2001. It would be awesome if my husband got saved on Christmas! Any year will do!! ;) Actually so will any day of course!!

I just know that God tugged at both of our hearts during holy holidays. That was the only way to get through to us.

We should be praying really hard, especially right now during this time of year. I think people's hearts are more open than usual.

God Bless,

Well WE (yes my husband my kids and I) went to our candle light service on Christmas Eve! It's the one time a year that he comes w/ us. In previous years he has tried to leave the service for this reason or that but this year he stayed the whole time and his comment was "it wasn't that bad". Our pastor knew that there would be a lot of unchurched there and kept the sermon to ten minutes and there was no "hell or damnation" mentioned so my husband didn't feel judged. It was great! I will pray for you washed clean.
