God is good.

Stay hungry for Him.

God didnt provide for fathers of the faith in the Bible because they jumped up and down at God and demanded a blessing.

God rewards faith, and a clean and pure heart.

Remember just to seek Him first, and the rest will be added.

Not always easy, i know....but trust me. its the only way. :)

Sometimes God gives us what we ask but we don't know we have received.
I met someone who wanted the gift of healing and had prayed for a long time to get the gift. When I asked him what sort of work he did, he told me he was an ambulance driver. God was already helping him to heal people but not the way he wanted.
Sometimes we have to ask again and again because God wants us to grow in our faith.
Sometimes we have to wait for the things we ask for.
Sometimes we don't really believe God will give us what we ask and so we don't get.
There are many reasons why there are not big miracles but we have this promise: "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will fulfill the desires of your heart".
Keep thanking God and trusting His many promises. Don't give up and you will see big miracles. :)

The Gifts of the Spirit are special abilities for Christian service. The gifts are given by the Holy Spirit for the purpose of ministry. We must seek Jesus--not the gifts. He chooses what to give, when to give, and to whom to give. Every Christian can be used in one or all of these gifts at various times as God chooses. (I Corinthians 12:7-11)

Word of Wisdom
Word of Knowledge
Faith
Gifts of Healing
Working of Miracles
Prophecy
Discerning of Spirits
Kinds of Tongues
Interpretation of Tongues

Do not regard these gifts as measures of spirituality. We are known by the FRUITS of the SPIRIT, not our gifts. (Galatians 5:22,23)

Hi you. I see that many of you know and understand many spiritual things, which many Christians don’t know. But I also know these things. God speak with my friend with voice about every day and we learn many interesting things from God. But it is not enough. First I want is that God would speak and with me. Second I want to have or the same spiritual authority that Jesus Christ had or more than Jesus Christ had. It is His promise if you remember. I want it also for the all believers.
Maybe many don’t know many promises of God but Jesus have many big promises and I keep them in my heart.
So I need advices from them who have more faith and more spiritual gifts than I. And what God have to say me by them who have spiritual special gifts, for example gift of prophesy? Are there some who are like by power to Moses, Elijah, Elisha and to Jesus Christ? Please help me in the name of Christ.

Hi Orange

I will do my best . . :)

First, a warning . . one must never confuse the annointing of the Holy Spirit with divine approval of one's life, one's teaching . . it is possible for someone to experience the annoiting, the gifts of God and be far from God . .

For an example, look at Saul while he was going after David to kill him himself . . The Holy Spirit came upon Saul, Saul stripped off his clothes till he was but naked, and ran around prophesying . . and people made a joke of it, was he one of the prophets now too?

Balaam's *** spoke . .

We don't just look at the power evident in the gifts in someone's life, we look for the fruit to be evident as well . .

God's miraculous power has never left . . miracles are happening all the time, of all kinds, in the Catholic Church and Orthodox Churches . .they never stopped . .

But because these Churches to not make a big deal of them, people on the outside rarely hear of them, but once you start exploring it, especially as a Protestant, your jaw drops about 10 feet . . and stays there for a while . .

I mentioned Padre Pio because he was the greatest saint of the last century, where the power and gifts of God opperated in powerful ways . . his life was holy, completely devoted to the service of God and other's, profoundly so . .

Here is a book that was written by a Protestant pastor who set out to try to prove Padre Pio was a fake . . his investigation led him completely in the opposite direction:

Padre Pio: The True Story

There are many sites on the internet about his life . . . a goole search on his name wil turn up an abundance of sites . .

One miracle in particular is stunning . . and remains a sign even today as this woman is still alive, still evaluated, still found to have a totally unexplained ability to see . .

Here name is Gemma

This is exerpted from the book below:

To Perugia, where I met Gemma di Giorgi, who was born without pupils, rendering her completely blind. Despite this fact, when she visited Padre Pio at the age of seven in 1947, she suddenly became able to see. Today, she still sees - without pupils.

She is a living sign to the miraculous power of God . . a sign that cannot be contradicted . . She was again evaluated last year (if I remember right, either last year or the year before) . . still no medical explanation as to why she can see perfectly

Here is one of many books where her miralce is detailed:

http://www.hvidt.com/en/Publications/livingmiracles/Preface.html

Here is a summary of his life (one of many on the net):

http://www.thewandererpress.com/b6-6-02.htm

Why I am posting all this is to help you see that God is still working, still doing miracles of amazing types . . iti s just that the Protestant world is so unaware of much of what is h appeneing becaues they don't investigate the happenings in the Catholic and Orthodox Churches . .

The Catholic Church encourages people to seek the face of God rather than the hand of God . . because no matter what the miracle is, it is the changed heart towads God that is the greatest miracle of all!

Please feel free to PM me or ask questions . . even to come to OBOB (One Bread One Body in the Communities forum) to ask about all this . ..

I think you will be amazed . .

Peace in Him!

Is there alive powerful Christian person here to help me??
Orange in Christ

I live in Australia so I don't know of anyone in your area but I want you to understand that God wants us to rely completely on Him.

2Cor 4:7 "We have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power, may be of God and not of us."

The power that lives inside a believer is the same power that "moved over creation" and made the universe. The power of God is very, very strong and must never be treated foolishly. (Read Acts 8:9-24 for an example of someone who did)

There have been many people who have tasted the power of God in their lives but have ended up in destruction and misery. This is because they did not first learn to be humble. This was Lucifer's downfall. God gave him power but he abused it and since the crucifixtion his judgemnet is final. (John 16:11) But he still has power, it has not been taken from him yet and he still works it in this world. (2Cor4:4 this is one example how he uses his power)
Moses was used by God for great power, but he was also called "the most humblest man on earth". Jesus learnt to be obedient to God through the things He suffered (Heb 5:8; Compare Deut 8:2 obedience leads to humility)

If we seek the power of God then we must be aware that we need to be humble or we will be destroyed. This is why it is important to seek God's face first and not His power. Remember, there is an enemy who "roams around as a roaring lion, seeking to devour" (1Peter 5:8) and he will try to trick you. He is very happy to use his power for you but it will trap you and bring you down. This is why we must test every spirit to see if it is of God. (1John 4:1)

I do not want to discourage you from seeking miracles, but you must know it can be a dangerous path as well as a great blessing. I have seen and heard many great things of God but the hardest lesson I have learnt is to be faithful in the small things. Will you follow Him even if He never gives you what you ask for? You must ask yourself this question and be honest when you answer.

Jesus loves you very much Orange and He wants you to be His friend because He is worth having as a friend, not because He can do great and marvellous things. Seek His face first, then all the other things will be given to you. He is gracious beyond understanding and gives generously to all who ask. Never, never, never, never, never give up! :)

I will keep you in my prayers. God bless.

What exactly are you seeking?

Are you seeking God's power?

Or do you want to seek His face?

Pay Heed to sawdust's post above. . it is absolutely true . .

If you seek God's power without seeking first His face, you are on dangerous ground . .. you will lack necessary humility, and satan will take every advantage to ruin your soul . .

If you seek God's face, then expiereincing God's power is not necessary . . to kNOW God is above all experieince of God's power . . .

Remember Ezekial's experience seeking God's voice . . God was not n the great demonstrations of power . . but in the still small voice . .

But let me ask you this - are you personally in need of a miracle?

Peace in Him!

In Christ

If you want to reach the big promises of God so that you can perform miracles, we are giving you advice and spritual help. There is a gift of miracles that God will give to those He choses but I think He would only give this gift to someone who has learnt humility and is not likely to abuse the power.

But if you want to find someone who can ask a miracle of God for you and see it done then I don't know of anyone where you live. You will have to keep looking.

Which do you find more attractive . .

Knowing God deeply without experiencing much of God's power?

Or experiencing God's power, but not knowing Him deeply?

Be careful of what you are seeking . . .

God's miraculous power is very, very real . . .. but if that is what one is seeking, then they open themselves up to being deceived . .especially by their own heart . .

Jesus warns against those who call Him Lord, Lord, but don't enter the kingdom of heaven . .

This is what He says:

Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Be very careful here . . . you do not want to be in that latter catagory . .

If you are seeking a miracle for yourself or another, you need to seek God . . not someone who appears to walk in the power of God . . they could be one of those Jesus talks about above . .

Orange, as a Catholic, I believe I can ask the Saints in heaven to pray for me . . Miracles continue to happen in the Catholic Church even when people ask for a Saint who is now in heaven to pray for them . ..

It is very important to seek God's face . .

If you are in need of a miracle, please let us know so we can pray for you!

Peace in Him!

To reach the big promises of God is to live your life the way He wants you to. Whether He wants to use you in a small way or in a humungous way, whether or not you have any gifts of the Spirit...do whatever it is He has planned for you, and be open in heart and in mind for whatever He tells you to do.

That is challenge enough. And that is the biggest promise of God -- fulfillment thru Christ. When you are living your life the way God wants you to, that is the biggest way you can be used, whether or not we as humans realize it.

If there's one thing I've learned -- it's that how God chooses to use us has very little to do with what we do, where we are or WHO we are. Anything that He does thru me is by His will alone. We can't control whether He will choose for us to prophesy or to speak in tongues or to heal...we can't control whether He will choose for us to bring the gospel to a foreign and unreached nation. We can't control whether He will choose for us to transform lives.
It has nothing to do with how good we are or how much we have or anything else that has to do with us. It's not about us. It's about Him. He could choose the woman who is often viewed as holy by those surrounding her, who has lived her whole life by God's word and is the one often looked up to as godly. The one who does "everything" right, has a great job, good looks, a happy family...everything she could ever want. God may choose her to be used in the smallest ways. He may choose her works to go unnoticed by everyone but Himself. And knowing what she has and who she was, if does what God has chosen her for, she will be living the biggest promises of God.

And likewise, He could choose the homeless man off of the street, who hasn't bathed for months and often goes without meals --the man who spends his days on the streetcorners, holding up a cardboard sign that says "Will Work For Food" or "Homeless, 3 Children, Please Help". Our mighty God could very well and does choose that man to be the one to change the world. To prophesy and to heal and to go to foreign nations and transform lives. And if he, knowing where he came from and who he was, does what God has chosen him for, he will be living in the biggest promises of God.

Who will be used in better ways? Both of them are equal. Because they submit to His will, looking past their circumstances and submitting to what He had for them to do. It has absolutely nothing to do with us, or what the world will view as greater. It's a matter of the heart. When your heart is in submission to whatever God has for you -- whether you have everything or nothing, every gift or none, whether you are recognized or unnoticed -- when your heart is in that place, you have recieved the biggest promises of God, and so much more. For we know that it is only by His grace that we are able to be used at all.

Of course we all have desires for the things we view as greater. But, sometimes it takes getting back to the truth that we have much more than what we could ever hope for, because God's grace is sufficient.

And if He chooses us to be the person who takes out the trash from the most well known church in the world, the church that houses many prophets and healers and anointed ministers, we are no less and no greater than the prophets and healers and ministers themselves. And as hard as it is for us to realize that, it's the truth. God has different plans on equal footing for each of us. They may be viewed as lesser and greater on earth, but your heart is what will matter in heaven.

(man, my stuff always turns into mini-sermons. oh well)
