  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How do I serve God?
How do I know if I am serving Satan or God?

Hi there, briefly here's my input to your questions....

I would say you/we serve God by obeying Him by knowing what His will is by reading the bible and obeying it.(start in the new testament). We grow in faith and knowledge of the Kingdom of God by reading His word. Above all else, whatever you/we do, do it in love. 1 Corinthians 13 explains that if we do anything apart from love we might as well not do it.

As you/we grow in faith and knowledge of the things of God, and get a feel for what gifts God has blessed you with you may feel led to become a teacher, pastor, evangilist, helping the homeless or whatever. You may start to feel a calling upon your life, pray and ask God to please verify your suspected calling.

Until you figure out what exactly your calling is, we are all called to do whatever we can, where we are with the resources that we have to spread the gospel message to a lost and dying world....

aka: let God work through you :)

In regards to your second question - If you/we are not obeying (serving) God's written word you/we are obeying (serving) satan. I suppose in many cases we are not so much willingly serving satan but rather being led astray by deceptive/wicked spirits?

Hope that helps. If you have any other questions, feel free to pm me as I most likely won't be back to this thread.
