  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How to react if a girl flirts with you?

I'd definitely say from my experience in churches that men are being emasculated. He isn't exactly alone in thinking this stuff, IMO.

It may be generally true, but the fact that there isn't a proliferation of Christian pickup artists is not proof of that. Equating masculinity with the ability to get into the pants of a girl whom one doesn't even know is absurd.

Pshaw. I've heard it before and I think it's nonsense no matter how many people agree with it. The same guys who attend churches that forbid women from teaching or having authority claim that they've been emasculated and church is too feminized.

It's just a lame excuse for non-involvement.

Besides which, it's laughable. "I don't feel manly enough, the womenz took mah manliness away. Boohoo. I think I'll whine and cry like a little girl."

Because we all know that blaming women is the macho manly-man method of remasculation.

Wow, dude your something else....do you understand the concept of "reading comprehension" ?

I did not say that the lack of "Christian Pick-Up Artists" is proof that Christian men are emasculated.

Men in church are not leading, Fathers are not teaching their sons hows to be men.

Being successful with people in general, especially women is certainly a part of being masculine.

And a Christian guy can learn the skills of a pick up artist without bedding women. In fact if a guy wants a gf, eventually a wife and a successful marriage....he had better learn the traits of a Pick Up Artist or he is doomed.

Are Christian men a bunch of Wimps? | Seed Church

That one doesn't say anything about emasculation. It's talking about the difference between nice men and good men. All of which applies to women, too. It's no more okay for Christian women to be wimps in those areas than it is for Christian men to be.

Honestly, I do NOT understand the seeming need for some men to link everything to their "manliness".

no. just... no.
A girl might give these guys some attention for a bit. Once she realizes that most (though not all) of these guys have a middle name of DeWalt, she will find the quiet one in the back row of church. Yeah, the one with ZERO PU skillz. Some don't even bother with PUAs. Some talk to the ones that hang out with the youth pastors. And some care very little for flirting.

The ones that are about PUAs, steer clear of me. I'm not interested.

It's not completely nonsense. Many things that are inherent in masculinity have been called out as wrong by the church in the past, though not so much today. I don't think that any of them are remotely pertinent to the topic at hand, though.

Because we all know that blaming women is the macho manly-man method of remasculation.

Wife-beaters around the world agree!

Am I justified in thinking that a girl may not be flirting because she likes me or is this simply stupid?

It is not stupid of you to believe that. Some people flirt not because they like someone but because they see something to gain from it. It could also be the case that the woman is naturally flirty with most guys.

What does a guy do when a girl flirts with him?

It depends on the guy. Shy guys will go all awkward and blush, but more confident guys will leap at the chance to flirt even if they don't fancy the woman!

Ways that guys flirt include:

  • Playfully touching the woman (non sexual areas).
  • Gentle teasing.
  • Offering to help out and being a gentleman.
What do you do if you have family with you? If your with a bunch of other guys?

If you are with family then it is not really an appropriate time to flirt outrageously. It is alright if you are hanging with a bunch of guys.

Gen 2:18 - The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him."

Woman came from man and was literally a gift from God. Woman is God's gift to man.

Gen 6:3 - When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.

Eve sinned first. Then Adam. The point is that BOTH humans sinned. THEN Christ came down and covered it all!

It is forgiven and done.

@MacFall (?): I agree.

I (and others) have made an observation, and assessed why this was so (just used reason to find the sources). I didn't draw any conclusions. You're drawing the conclusions, and then kind of acting like a jerk about it TBH.

For me, it's about how things are done. I'm sure people have used it as an excuse, and I'm not talking about them. It's their loss that they're not making an attempt to change things. I'm talking about the average guy who has gone through church and everything has to be based on "feelings", whether feeling convicted, feeling the Spirit move, feel God touch on your heart, all these things aren't exactly in a man's territory. We don't do feelings. It's not wrong, it's just how most of us were wired.

Very few men actually complain about it (and I didn't either). We usually just leave, and then groan and complain a lot when an SO wants to take us to church. When something doesn't speak to you, it just doesn't speak to you. And that in a nutshell is why a lot of men don't like church.

No, what happens is by the time she is 30-34, the Pick Up Artists are done with her, and she finds a Beta Male to provide for her and her 4 babies with no daddies.

LOL
