Convenient for you.I see your point. But what you say cannot be applied to a spiritual context.
Its talking about light on earth specifically when there was creation. It cannot mean some other lightSo you don't think that there is light in the heavens above the sun.
There is no link to the light in heavens here. It's only talking about light on earth and aroundDoes it really not make sense to you that there is light in the heavens without the sun? You need to check again. You are mixing creation of heaven with earth. @Godistruth1

In case you were not already aware... I was a devout believer/follower for decades. It is only when I decided to instead read the Bible for myself, verses awaiting my weekly (sermon / book report) in church, and also in Bible study, is when I started to actually question.
I did so in earnest for a couple of years. And since then, I have found many passages which appear in conflict with human discovery. It would appear God was not guiding me accordingly, when I started to question.
Thus, your assertion that God 'leads in truth' is not applicable in my case.
Hence, no wonder I'm now a skeptic to such asserted claims...
If humans are flawed, how do you know you have even chosen the correct claimed God to follow? You are aware there exists many differing god(s), right? I would imagine you have not explored them ALLAnd even if you have, if you are flawed, how were you 'effectively' able to rule out all others?
You have basically stated that this is how God want's it, in church. And that's it! (i.e.) 'He decides how it should function'. You do not provide any reason(s).
You also state 'It still is normative for a church leadership structure.' Which further reinforces my prior posted observation that: 'it seems more likely whomever wrote such a passage was simply reinforcing the normative thoughts and behaviors of the era; without any true just cause to assert as such.'
So no, I certainly would not see how I misunderstood God's Word. But more importantly, you furnished no explanation as to how I might have actually misunderstood.
The above is an example of coercion or an ultimatum. God is stating humans are 'broken', and the only way to fix what is 'broken', is to believe an anecdotal story line. Well, I don't. So if what God states is true, God's "wisdom' is to tell me to believe in it anyways, or I will fry.
Again, since you are a flawed human, you may be following the script of a false claimed god. How would you know, since you are flawed?
You see, I know how (I) evaluate such claims. I compare such claims with peer reviewed reality. And when such claims don't appear to align, I then doubt such claims. What is (your) method for discerning truth?
Redemption is to exchange my wrong and my punishment and rescue me. This nature and purpose of the law has been fulfilled by Messiah taking my wrong and my punishment upon Himself for this was the purpose of the law.
Jesus said:
“Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them. For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. These are what defile a person”
I wish you stood the test of faith so God would grant you the wisdom and understanding of the spiritual matters.
What you have explained is most likely the result of not standing the test of faith. A devout believer/follower would stand the test of faith. God leads in truth but you will reach to see the truth only if you stood the test of faith.
My faith has been tested several times and i kept my faith through the test. Before the test of faith came in my life, I did not understand fully and questioned my faith but still i chose to believe because I'm a mere flawed human. After i passed the test of faith, i received the wisdom that gave me understanding of the truth.
Church is God's place and He demands everyone's attention inside His church for it is meant to be a place to give our full attention to God. But a woman who is loud and exercising authority inside a church attracts attention to herself. It is a true just cause.
Because only God is in the position to save us, He alone knows How to save us and so He expects us to rely on Him. How is coercion or an ultimatum even a problem?.
As flawed humans we all do the same, evaluate and compare. We must evaluate and compare but faith and fear of God are greater tools than all our methodologies because this is about spiritual things and all our methods could be a failure as God reveals Himself to those that have simple child like faith and fear. Faith and fear of God are the only effective methods that give wisdom to discern the truth about spiritual matters. My evaluations and comparisons did not help much but just gave me information. Having information is different from seeing the power of God working in my life. The moment we are losing our faith and fear of God we will be led astray from the truth.
Me discerning that a flood most likely did not happen, or that a story of Adam and Eve does not jive with biology, or that such claimed evidence for a resurrection appears lacking at best, or unanswered prayer for decades, all just for starters, is a test of my 'faith'?
This does not answer my question in the least.
Again, if you are a flawed human, how do you even know you have chosen the correct claimed God to follow?
What? What if a man also does such things? Have you not seen and/or heard of televangelists?
What if the woman in charge is not loud and attempt only to attract attention to herself, still no? Well, according to the cited verses, she is not allowed. I'm still awaiting a decent reason?
Saved us from what? God can do whatever He wants. God's 'wisdom' states we must believe in a book filled with anecdotal tales. And if we don't, He will instead send us to a place of torture forever. I'm sorry if I do not find such assertions filled with 'wisdom.'
It is. Indeed a test of faith. A devout believer/follower would choose to believe God over flawed human discoveries.
I know because I have seen and experienced the power of God working in my life after I stood the test of faith. His Word came alive in my life. My prayers have been answered. All this came after I stood the test of faith. My spirit can see and hear Him because He has opened the eyes and ears of my spirit since I have chosen to trust Him over myself. So I’ve got the evidence and assurance in my very eyes that I can no longer deny. Denying this truth that is clearly evident is not possible and would be a foolish mistake.
Only God should have all the attention in His church. Church is for God and about Him. He is the center of focus if anyone wants to come worship and listen to Him. Women taking in charge over men attract attention to themselves even if they are not loud. God remains the focus when it’s men. This is a simple fact.
