  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello, beloved.

I recommend that you read
James 4:13 - 17.

13. Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”;

14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.

15 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.”

16 But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.

17 Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.

I would just say the if the Lord wills do this and that....ask Him to help you with decisions...you'll see....

God Bless hope this helps!

If you present all your plans to the Lord in prayer, and then wait upon HIm to organize your life, trusting Him to pave the way, His Way, mind you, it will be well withour soul. Leaving the outcome in His hands the first few times will be the most difficult, because you have never done it before.

This is where the trust factor comes in. IF it like falling backwards trustiing He will be there to catch you. There is one other factor, God does not do as you planned, because His Ways are not your ways. This is where learn of Him comes in. your life experiences from now on have more to do with you learning about God and the way He thinks and operates, that the situation upon which the lesson are being taught to you. It is a new life with a totally different purpose and sometimes it is hard to let go of the good parts of the old life to totally live in the new life with Him. Trust Him. He plans good and wonderful blessings, just have faith in Him.

This world will seem to have all the answers instantly and you may wonder where is the Lord in all this. He will arrive at just the right moment and then it will make perfect sense. Wait upon Him. Again, I can not stress enough, trust Him. You will not regret waiting, and believing in Him.

You are in the learning stages of walking with the Lord. He is like your earthly father when you were wee little and just learning to walk, He was holding your hands while you take your first steps and then He wasn't and out of fear you sit down fast. He will again pick you up and lead you so far, then you will not feel His hands, even though He is not far, just watching with Hands out to guide and direct you in the Way, ready to catch you. Keep your eyes upon Him and keep walking towards Him. You will be able to walk on water like Peter when your focus is perfectly upon Him. Be like a little child, trusting your parent to be there for you. Hold your parent's hand for as long as it takes to get your spiritual walking feet.

One day you will be able to walk beside Him like a friend, comfortable in His presence, constantly in prayer, always rejoicing His presence, and having the time of your life with Him. He is the best adventure in this wicked world.

God bless and may your walk with Him be blessed with adventures that bring smiles to your face and rejoicing to your heart, and contentment to your soul. May you consider Yeshua to be the dearest friend you have ever made.

Matthew 11:28-30 reads: "28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Lay all your worries at the foot of the cross. Worry, fear, confusion - all those things are not "of God". It's the enemy's way of distracting you from God's perfect plan for your life.

Pray about ALL things. Some answers will come immediately whether you feel them in your spirit or you get confirmation from an outside source. Other answers may never come, but you have to remember that EVERYTHING is in God's timing. Sometimes His answer is NO or NOT YET. Remember that He only wants what's best for you. Our wants and needs may not be what's best; only He knows and He will make all things happen accordingly.

May God bless you and remove any and all worry, confusion or other problems you are having.

Hi restore:

Some good advice here, but I want to add something from a less "theological" position and from a more "practical" position...

While we should in fact lay our troubles before the Lord, and trust the future to Him, we also have a responsibility to use the good brains that God gave us..

We are not suppose to take a fatalistic view and just sit back and throw up our hands and say "ok God, you do it"!

We have the responsibility to make plans, to set goals, to plan out our direction - BUT knowing that God is the one in control, and will guide us in whatever direction we should go. And of course to pray for direction and listen to His voice.

Thanks...
It is so helpful...

I m on the way to CLEAN of all old minds and habits, it is so hard, faith is really uneasy thing.
Hi restore, faith is easy, but getting all that garbage out of our "house" and renewing our mind is the hardest.

I've been around the traps a long time, and I find it hard at times.

The "race of endurance" is a hard race, and we all run it at different speeds.

So, just take each day as it comes to you, and when you wake up each morning, just say, "G'day Lord, what have you for me today?" I don't ask that these days, I just get up and take it as it comes. The day will evolve around you.

How a Christian plans for tomorrow.....
is to love the Lord with all his/her heart TODAY !

Purpose to know Him more today.
Purpose to study Him.

He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. Psalm 112:7

...For me it has been just walking in His light day to day. I focus on the moment and God helps me plan out things that I wish to do, work wise, school wise, friends wise. It's good to come up of your own plans but get them checked out with God before you go through with it.
...Someone had it right when they said that God will not do it for you. He is a powerful God but he cannot take you to get a student and tell your councelor to give you a loan and you automatically get one. If ya know what I mean. Like I said though, try to live your life day to day as the Bible and Jesus would want, and you will see things unfold. I hope this helps, and God bless.

Go ahead and plan, but first go to God in prayer and ask him to guide you, to "direct your steps". Then trust God as you make your plans, somehow God will guide in a way that even your mistakes will be used for good.

However, check now and then whether your life is lining up with the values of Jesus as they written down in the Holy Bible. When you find your life is off track and moving away from the values of Jesus, confess your sins, and then repent, which means turn to God, then ask God to fill and control you by Holy Spirit (see Ephesians 5:17-18). Delibrately seeking God to fill and control you by Holy Spirit is the most effective way to successfully live the Christian life (Read Romans 8).

How to Plan

Pray asking God to open up your mind for His Plan
Pray until inspiriation comes
Mull over what God has presented
Remember He created you for a purpose, in His Plan, in its time, and it is greater than you could even imagine.

Talk over Idea with God for Him to show you the details
Start plan with God directing.
Ask God all questions covering plan concept, workings, distractions, difficulties, and what should be the plan of action. You will be needing to build up that trust factor with God so that you do not take over the controls thinking you got it and can handle it. You have no idea what the big picture is and what part you play in the grand scheme of things. It is like being an actor in the movies, where you will be called upon to do His script, and until the movie comes out, have no idea just show significant that part you played was, how pivital it is in the life of those around you. His way is the only way.

Check with God before acting.
If there is one thing to learn above all else, it is that patience is truly necessary. God never rushes His plan, and neither should you. When the time is right, it will all fall into place, leaving you to just praise God and know your place.

God has placed a seed in your mind. This inspiration needs watering and it comes from the Holy Spirit. Pray for quidance. Patiently wait. Do not jump the gun. Abraham did and we have Ishmael's lineage to deal with today...talk about how exponential a problem can get just by jumping the gun and doing it yourself. NEVER get ahead of God's schedule.

Whatever idea has inspired you, take it back to the Lord and lay it on the altar. It is His, acknowledge it. If it is not His, it will be burnt up. If it is His, it will bloom and grown and with your eyes upon Him you will see what He intends you to do. He has given you talents, He has given you gifts, and they are the perfect combination for His Plan. You have an important role to play. Stay still to learn what He wants you to do. Keep coming back to Him to learn, to learn, and to learn more.

If you receive no further inspiriations and nothing but silence when you pray then I would seriously consider that the Lord may be telling you it was not from Him. On matters that are from Him, He follows up with details, inspiriations to teach you what will happen, what you need to learn, what you need to do, what you need to prepare for, and countless other details that shine a light on your path to handle the Plan better. He will be with you every step of the Way on His Plan.

Which daily choices should we bring to The Lord please ? Do we need to bring all that we do each day ? For example: What should i cook today ? Visionary thanks for your helpful post. I am a new Christian and do not really understand how to know God's guidance and will each day. I really do want to do God's will , but i feel confused as to how to know this.

Yes, even what to cook today is important. God will inspire you to cook and eat certain foods because of your body needs. Have you ever stood in front of the refridgerator looking in and not seeing what you want? It is your body craving something. For example, when I am low on calcium, my body craves pickled okra and cheddar cheese. The pickled okra for the acid it takes to help break down the cheese and the cheese for the calcium. When these craving occur, learn from them and find out why you have the cravings, then you will be better able to provide the proper nutrition for the body.

Your confusion as to knowing how to do this is normal. It takes years of studying all things in the light of our Lord. He is involved in all aspects of your life and the world around you. You have been taught the worldly way and now you need to re-learn it from God's perspective. The more you learn the more you will find out how prevasive and devistating evil is in this world. This eye opening revelation will help you to refrain from participating in the evil one's diabolical plan and to aline yourself on the Lord's side. Fear not, the Lord still is in control and will win.

There is no easy answers on how to help you with the confusions, you will have many and each need to be brought to the Lord. All the more reason to be in constant and instant in prayer with God all the time. He is and will be the best place to get the best answers.
