How to deal with homosexual temptations being displayed in everyday life

It's so frustrating, it's tiring.

Everywhere I go, I bump into girls being intimate, more frequently than before, a lot of music coming out this year of lesbian relationships in I guess the wake of the feminist movement growing, even a lot more movies right now promotion homosexuality. Its in politics, its in everyday speech all around me. I can't go through one week without it being discussed or promoted. And I know it can't be avoided to come across these things, but as someone trying to run away from it, its get tiring just being surrounded by the propaganda. I have to kill my flesh daily just to get by, or else I can get lazy in faith and be swayed.

How do one deal with such a heavy influence as homosexuality (or just hypersexualization in general) is right now?

Starting with Theater in high school I've been in close contact and confidence with Gay men and woman. I've never considered wavering in my commitment to women. As long as people are friendly, they can be straight, gay or neutered, I don't mind.

You're right, homosexuality is being promoted and discussed almost everywhere now. I can see how that would be really difficult. I don't have your specific cross to bear, but with my own I try to do a few things. First, I'm not sure where you are in your journey, but I had to eliminate any temptations/triggers completely from my life until I could handle them without them causing problems. For example, if you liked a certain TV show that randomly discussed homosexuality, even in a very benign way, avoid it for a long time. Then, if you think you can handle watching it, go back and watch. Things like that. I know it can be hard to "run away" from the culture because oversexualization is everywhere, but go on a media fast for a while and see what that does for you. Focus on work, reading, hobbies, prayer, and your community.

Also, stay strong and consistent in your prayer life. Aside from reading scripture, also read uplifting spiritual works by holy men and women in order to feed your desire for holiness and faithfulness to God. My daily reading really gives me a boost when I need it most.
