  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well, its more than it seems. Not a regular college because I am attending my 2nd year at a local community college and plan to transfer to a major university to finish up my degree (in I.T.). Anyway, I know I'm called to be a youth pastor and well, I kinda need to go to school for that. So, i was wondering how do i choose which school i should go to? i really dont want to limit the areas i can go to except in the US....thats the only limit. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to choose a bible college....also....seminary school=bible college? so many words.....

There's a difference between a bible college and a seminary.
A seminary is usually a college that is part of a larger university and is place to get your masters in divinity, theology, etc to become an ordained minister.

A bible college is a college (obviously), that is christian focused but not strictly focused on churning out new pastors and such. ie they give degrees out in a variety of different majors.

example-
Seminary of Northwestern = Garrett (but it is not a "bible college")

Sometimes bible colleges also have a seminary.

I would suggest that you look into a Christian liberal arts college. There you can complete your degree in IT and add a major or minor in Youth Ministry or Bible or what you wish.

The cold hard reality is that very few people work for more than a few years in youth ministry.
