To be in a state of constant prayer, even while singing. People don't understand the significance of P&W. God dwells in the praises of His people, so when we praise Him, He is with us and His Spirit is there to touch everyone's heart.

Pray your songs, sing your prayers.

I think the biggest thing to keep in mind is that not everyone worships the same way. I've been discouraged so many times because not everyone will sing or something like that. God is most glorified when we are happy in Him. If that means sitting and listening or standing and shouting, we have to let the Spirit lead each person. I hope that makes sense.

One good rule we have to be a "good" P&W leader.. is be prepared. How can we help the congregation worship if we are not worshipping ourselves? If we don't know the words or what's coming next in the service, our as musicians, have not practiced, it's impossible to worship when you are concentrating because you're not prepared. So, we really stress practice at home and come prepared to worship - thats what has worked best for me (and entire team). God's Blessings to you!

To be an effective worship leader is first and foremost a matter of heart. ;) Worship just doesn't start and end on Sunday...tiz not done only in a praise and worship service. Worshipping God is an ongoing lifestyle of integrity, also a joyous way of daily living! :D Worship Jesus every day...this will help make you a praise and worship leader that He smiles upon with His powerful anointing because you do so sincerely! You not just singing for the sake of singing, nor to get glory for yourself, you worshipping from your heart, ascribing greatness due unto God Most High, who is O SO WORTHY!

Read the psalms...fullllllllllllllllllllllllllll of praise and worship! :holy: Here are other applicable Bible verses...

John 4:23-24 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.

Ephesians 5:19-20 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ...

Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

1 Timothy 4:12 Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.

Don't set out to be a worship leader, aim to be a lead worshipper. Never forget that the Holy Spirit is the ultimate worship leader and He may lead you into times of complete silence or prayer, praise or worship. Give Him room to move.

It's very important that the church leaders recognise your sensitivity to the Spirit as well. Also you be aware of thiers. Your pastor or leader may feel a leading to go another direction to you. Submit to authority and serve others as you'd like to be served.

God bless
