Now...those of us in the Presbyterian tradition hold to the Regulative Principle of Worship. Most Christians don't...but this video is just the complete opposite. If you have any violent tendencies you may not want to watch, you may send your computer flying across the room.

In all fairness, it's probably not pagan. However I would like to see more actual content, preferably Biblical content, in songs. But then, I'm Presbyterian, so that's no surprise. It's fine for worship to involve the emotions. My concern is that by intentionally working people up this way, you're likely to cause the unwary to confuse the Holy Spirit with simple excitement. While I don't like songs that repeat one phrase over and over no matter what that phrase is, at least songs like Holy, Holy are trying to focus people on God. I don't see that in this song. It seems to be focusing them on their own reaction.

The thing that concerns me is that the church in America has watered down and dumbed down the gospel to the point worship is about the person rather than focusing on glorifying God.

I sincerely doubt a church like this ever mentions such things as sin, repentence, atonement and the like leaving the worshipper with nothing but a rush from the feel-good music. IMO, this really ISN'T a church in God's sight.

I think I have to disagree with you. This is nothing more than whipping people into a frenzy and spouting vain non-sensical repititions as if they were incantations. This is worshipping a god of their own making. If they want to compare themselves to a part in Moses' narrative, they shouldn't be looking to where God revealed Himself through the burning bush in Ex.3 (Moses taking off his shoes), but rather they should see themselves as the idolatrous Israelites, dancing and reveling around a golden calf while Moses was on Mt. Sinai. I can hardly find a more apt description of pagan.

Hedrick's answer pretty much sums up my opinion.

Just last sunday, the minister at my church was preaching on how the devil can use spectacle without content to draw people away from God by getting Christians to concentrate on the smoke machines, on the band, lights and paintings rather than on God.

I think this spectacle cannot be termed worship in any standard sense of the word. It is entertainment of a religious sort. It is at the extreme end of a spectrum which ranges from this to very traditional religious entertainment as the Catholic mass. It doubtful that it is Pagan entertainment because its content is not overtly Pagan. The Christian elements of this entertainment are probably as obvious as that contained withing the Catholic mass.

What the maker of that little video failed to mention was that the reason that particular song is so popular among kids these days is that it was recently remade. And the new version is considerably more sexually explicit than the original.

Further, they've used the song and a gimmick to get the audience worked up like a regular concert. My thought is that they all sure could have done well to hear a good sobering Paul Washer sermon after that nonsense. I grew up with "secular concert with a Christian twist" stuff similar to that video. It's purely damaging. Kids in particular get worked up in emotion and think they're saved. But it's a lie. My guess is they had an alter call at some point in that concert.
