As far as I know, Panagia was most likely between the ages of 13 and 16 when the Annunciation took place. This was the normal age range for betrothals in that world.

A couple of things:

First, whoever said that to you is stooping to the lowest internet rhetorical technique: quoting a dictionary. That should tell you something right there. I prefer to base religious beliefs on things a little more in-depth than a (probably) 2-paragraph dictionary entry. There are whole books on this subject (as there are on just about everyone and everything mentioned int he Bible) so why didn't he quote one of them? Probably because they all say she was older, within the normal age range for betrothal.

Second, the post was highly condescending. The person obviously believes you are stupid and bases this judgement on your geographical location. Why would you believe anything this person has to say? They obviously don't respect your religion enough to carry on an adult conversation (the "your g^d landed" comment is seriously disrespectful) so why are you worried about what they have to say?

That person is trying to justify an act by Mohammed that most of us see as immoral (taking an extremely young bride) by distorting the truth about the age of the Mother of God when she was betrothed to Joseph. Betrothed, not married, and a virgin. There's no comparison between the two, and he is trying to draw one out of thin air (supported in his mind by a dictionary entry.) Don't sweat it.

Usually a girl's menstrual cycle starts when she is 11-13 years old, although some girls start as early as 8 and as late as 16.

Your theory makes a lot of sense--I never thought of that before.

Even in the Elizabethan times (1500's) life expectancy was like no more than 40 years old! Imagine what it was in the year 0 [zero]

Evolution is not the reason why woman are going through puberity at an early age. It's simply the hormones in the food they eat.

Dude, more hormones in the food makes people go through puberty faster. At least that's what most Scientists believe.

It is here where the people consume many unorganic vegetables, our land doesn't give off much organics, so we have lots and lots of hormones; that's actually why people in other countries are physically smaller. They eat all organics.

It's not just the U.S.A and Canada. Look at what the people eat in the U.K, and the rest of Europe. They eat less hormone stuffed meat so they are not going through puberty as early. Look at Africa where they eat almost no hormone stuffed meat, and check out their age for puberty. There was a Time magazine cover story on this not too long ago.
