The above was a handout in a church I attended for Easter service last year. I think they completely missed the point. . .
Truly they did :(

In an attempt to find "application" under every rock, so many turn the Bible from a book about Christ, to a book about "me". They read themselves into every page. This is not exegesis. This is narsigesis.

It turns out that "narcigesis" is a thing, and a brief search on the term brings up many horrible examples of narcissistic eisegesis in sermons (it seems Hillsong are particularly guilty of this).

Very sad.

Hill Song in my opinion is a seeker sensitive, accepting of most anyone and with many people in membership with lifestyles many Bible believing churches would have issues with. The New York church is sure that way as I understand it.

The little drawing I would expect to see in Joe Olstens church

I can't decide which is worse, the "open-minded" Liberal or the closed-minded fundamentalist

Fundamentalist is often a misused word like calling a person who breaks the law a legalist like the Pharisees; whom were thieves, murderers and adulterers. The resurrection of Christ first proved to the Pharisees that they made a mistake and to others that the New Covenant resurrection of the righteous was a reality.
