I see there are a number of mutual fitness freaks here

I am a cardio junky I used to run beetween 7-12 miles daily and kept at around 150 at 5'1'' and 4-5% Bodyfat

However I am now exploring and loving weight training.
I have packed on 12 punds of muscle in around 8 weeks all in upper body...my question is how much in Inches can I train my shest and arms and how quickly can I add these inches..I have a MMA fight in Fevruary I am working towards..

my current supplement regime is:

a high potency multi/mineral twice-three times daily

L-glutamine 3 grams three times a day

whey protein shakes
30 grams before a workout, 54 grams after in the form of weight gainer shake and one before bed.

amino acid complex in liquid form after workout

L-arginine to support NO levels

and

NO - Xplode workout drink...

any suggestions?

Hi,

I noticed that you are focusing only on your upper body. I would suggest you to make a complete workout routine including legs and back too and not just chest and arms. Not only would it make your whole body strong (to do heavy shoulder press you need strong legs) but it would also also give time for your upper body to rest.

Include deadlifts leg press in your workout routine.

I do legs as well

i break up the upper in to two groups...chest and shoulders and back and arm and lift heavy at 80% and higher each time....with about a minuted between sets.

1) You're neither 4 nor 5% bodyfat. That's about the level Ronnie Coleman steps on stage at, and it can't be held for more than a day or so, and comes with hormonal problems (ie. A Body Builder probably couldn't get it up on contest day if his life depended on it). I'm not saying this to start an argument, but it's always best to have an accurate assessment of where you are, espescially when it comes to making weight for a fight.

2) Why would your priority be your chest and arms for an MMA fight? That seems a bit odd to me, as they won't help much in a fight.

The PT at the gym I go to tested me yesterday ( calipers) and was at 6% When I was doing more cardio and had my metbolism jacked up and body fat lower I was getting sick thats when I started to do my research.

My legs/abs/ trunk are in good shape with good mass and strength,..I am just worried about uper body and forearm strength.,.

back to the Op what is the most I can gain in lets say a three months time in the form of lean mass
