  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Before I had kids I wanted 3 kids. I am pregnant with #3 now. This will be our last one. Being a parent is a tough job and it is all I can do to keep up with my 3 year old and 1 year old. Also my last pregnancy and my current pregnancy I have been very sick and I just really don't want to be pregnant again. When my kids are much older I may consider doing foster care and possibly adoption, but that is a long time from now. :)

My husband decided that he didn't want any more children after our first two. Then he changed his mind, and we had our son. After that, he did not want to have any more. Now we are grandparents. ;)

I wanted two at least, since I have a sister. But I was 31 when I got married, and we had our daughter when I was 35, almost 36. There were complications with the pregnancy, she was induced 2 weeks early, but she's a perfect 2 year old now, thank God! (as perfect as 2 year olds can be! lol) Also, my choice is to be a stay-at-home mom, and we just wouldn't be able to afford it if we had another child. So we were blessed with one little angel, and I wouldn't trade her for the world! God has His plan for you, and we just have to trust that it will work out for us! Good luck and God Bless!

Hi:wave:
Wifey wanted 2 or 3.
I wanted 1 or 2...

We have 3! We settled on 2 for about six years, though, until my heart won out over my head and I suggested we have another. It never seems to be a good idea logically, but I prayed about it, and my wife agreed we would have another child if it was God's will. We had two boys already and, though she wanted a girl, I didn't want to keep having children "going for" the girl. Nor did I want to have sex standing on my head trying for that gender... turned out prayer was all it took. I now have a six year old little angel who I am madly in love with!

We are so blessed! :)

We haven't decided that yet, as we are still trying. I believe that the Lord will let me know when He has decided that we have all that we can handle.

Wanted 2 and I have two. What made me stop was that 7 months ago while having my daughter, The epidural ran out at the last minute and the nurse that had the stuff was no where to be found, So I had her almost all natural there at the end, Well I ain't good with pain, so I ain't taking no chances. No really, 2 is enough for me. That may change but for now, we are done.

We originally wanted three and planned on adopting our fourth. However, I do not do pregnancy very well and two is it here and then we'll be adopting our third child in the next few years. I am open to adopting more than one child so we will see what happens.

Well, I have really tough pregnancies, usually, and I don't particularly enjoy labor either (though it can be done--I've had 4 natural births so far and survived, and in some ways they were AWESOME experiences...while in other ways, it's an awful tough work-out!!!!)...

...but I am now newly pregnant with #5, and we hope for MORE!

God totally changed my heart for children, and my husband's, and we are all for having a large godly happy home! We feel that it is our number one ministry (to the Body of Christ and to the world-at-large)--to produce mature disciples to be sent forth. If I couldn't have them naturally, we'd adopt in a heartbeat.

I love Psalm 127 and 128 in regards to children...

I am so excited to see what God is going to do through these little souls in our home! I tell them that all the time, too. ^_^

It's worth all the night-time wakings and the runny noses and the teethings and the constant work it involves. This service we do unto God (as we parent in righteousness and joy) is producing HUGE and wonderful things that human eyes cannot see.

Sometimes it's easy to forget that, but as those foundational stones are being laid in those little hearts, seeds are being planted that will one day cause a mighty harvest to come forth.

I love this quote:
"My home is a room,
Surrounded by four walls...
But tomorrow is in it."

God is good!
Love,
Molly

As a kid I wanted about a dozen....

later I was willing to settle for 5 or 6...

when we got married we wanted none...

first pregnency was a big, unwelcome surprise! ...

but the kid was great!...

so we chose to have another...

and right about the time I had made up my mind that 2 was good and I was done...

there was #3 in process...

and I couldn't be happier with any of them or for what our family life has been.

Man (and woman!) proposes, but God disposes.

Before you had kids, how many did you want? I was very adamant about NEVER having kids. I didn't think I'd have the patience, but I'm a complete sap for mine and can't even stand to spank my oldest, she goes to the corner every blue moon lol.

How many did you actually have? We have two girls. Last born July 1, 2004

What made you decide "That's enough kids for me!" Finances is what made me decide that's enough, although I could picture myself with 3 daughters;) , I didn't feel we'd be able to afford more. Unless the Lord performs a miracle though, there'll be no more since we opted for tubal ligation.
