How Long?

Ahhh yes the temptation to crow and gloat when someone else's perceived spiritual bill comes due is always a plague spot for some.

I prefer to take cognizance of how Time and Experience are handling the situation, what the response of the heart is, and if receptivity is present, rather than gloat and crow, offer protection, validation and succor. Gloating and crowing can disrupt the Process and prevent anything beneficial from happening, IMO.

But then again some people are only out for themselves, with no regard to their impact on others' lives. Abuser is not too strong a word to use in those cases where they are quite clearly controlled by an abrasive and intrusive impulse simultaneously.

Where did you learn that principle of American jurisprudence?

One could ask the same of you.

Sometimes a judge can decide against you even though "similar" cases went the other way. There is a certain amount lf lee-way and discretionary power that each judge has. It maybe that a judge feels that there are enough dissimilarities in the case at hand to render a verdict in the other direction.

Anyway, one cannot sue a judge for discrimination in the performance of their duties. One can, however, seek to have the verdict overturned in a higher court. Now if the judge was known to be discriminatory then one can ask that they recuse themselves based on that--they can also deny your motion! That happened in a recent episode of Law & Order. Kind of providential that I watched it, it seems.

So, it is a little obvious that most people have studied enough of the law to know how to use it or how it is applied. Try watching more Law & Order--very good teacher for those seeking to learn a smattering of the basics.

Abuse has a particular meaning in CF.

Good advice for some. I don't need it since I have a law degree from a US ABA law-school.

Maybe so, but 'cannot' and 'never tried to' are two different things.

I still believe there would be grounds for discrimination if it can be proved that a ruling is not consistent with other similar rulings. It's not like we are talking about a murder case wherein the prosecution doesn't have enough evidence to convict the accused. We are talking about people possibly going to prison for tax evasion on income when there really isn't a law to warrant such judgment.

If you can disclose a law that prohibits such action from taking place you will have your answer.

In other words, please show me a law that prohibits a person from filing a suit against a judge on a ruling for discrimination.

And while your at it, please disclose a law that states that a person must pay tax on income, and can be fined or imprisoned for not paying tax on income.

Since you have a degree in law you shouldn't have a problem providing this information.

OK, here's another one...

we were supposed to get $750.00 back from our deposit when we moved out of our apartment. The manager even told us this verbally. We just got a letter stating that they are going to keep more than $500.00 of our deposit for cleaning and painting.

We did not leave the place in any kind of condition to warrant these charges.

So you see, once again we have been burned!

I'm really losing hope here.

Because one hasn't experienced what is recommended, that doesn't make that recommendation invalid.

What lesson have I learned in suffering?

If you do what God says He lets people hurt you. If you don't do what He says He punishes you.

How could I believe God loves me? I feel like God hates me, that He has cursed me. I can never do enough to please God. My life has always been about suffering.

I just got a phone call from a person that moved our stuff into our home. We were charged for four hours. Now he is trying to tell us that there was a minimum charge for six hours. He now wants us to pay him $200.00 or he has threatened to sue us.

My life just sucks!

Would some money help? I'm not rich but I can certainly afford to share.... I could at least cover this tab for you?

I totally hear you. You're probably too consumed right now with all the pain you're enduring to be familiar with my situation at the moment. Basically I'm ricocheting back and forth between Staff and Serpent and getting kicked in the teeth no matter what I do or say by "God's people". Ironically, the only ones NOT doing this to me at the moment are you good folks here in SDA-ville.
