How long did it take you to 'become' Christian?

I prayed this prayer and it took a couple of months to work out what I had done.

Before that I had though I was a Christian because my parents used to drag me to Church. But I gave all that up as a waste of time. (Which to a point it was). Artybloke is right that you continue to be come Christian (that is christlike) for the rest of our lives.

To be a "Christian" means to be a deciple "to follow", in that respect many of us have been following for a long time....

Salvation and growth in Christ takes a lifetime constantly working through the struggles and fighting off sin.

I became a follower in early childhood, but I have strayed many times.... Thank God for that "ROD AND STAFF" that keep pulling me back to the fold...

Amen! We are "justified" before God in an instant, but sanctification, that takes a lifetime!!

Sorry to be the one to spoil the party, then. :)

I prayed at age 3 and I KNEW I was saved. I have never looked back. I am SO thankful for everything Jesus has done for me and kept me from.

Of course, I got married at 22 after a 6-month engagement and I never looked back from there, either (12 years now).

I guess I'm not afraid of commitment. :)

Well...one night in bed I just decided that I couldn't take life alone and somehow I knew that I needed Christ, so I asked him into my heart...that's all I did, and right then I knew I was a Christian...I didn't feel any different, but everyone said that saying the prayer was all I needed to do to become a Christian, so I believed in Christ and knew I was saved.
