When the new CF format was introduced earlier this week it included a new "Comment" facility where a poster could insert a comment into someone's post. This was apart from the normal "Reply" facility. The facility was removed after a couple of days when it became apparent it was causing problems.

It looks like someone intended to 'Reply' to your post but accidentally used the 'Comment' facility.

Confused.? Looks like the Comment facility is only available to Christians to prevent non-Christians (like me) from Commenting in Christians Only forums. As a non-Christian I am also not able to 'Reply" to posts in Christians Only forums.

Yes, we have removed the Comment feature for those who are identify as Non-Christian so they can't post any comments in the Christian Only areas, which means we had to exclude them from all the other areas as well.

Ah, I didn't notice that but see it now next to the LIKE function. I really don't understand how that is different than the reply? And why is my avatar wearing a pilgrims hat? Is that only for US members?

CF being a US site has the hats and the leaves for Thanksgiving. You do have the option of turning off the holidays theme widget in your preferences.

Does CF regard itself as a US centric site or a site which happens to be based in the US?

Thanksgiving is a specifically US event. For those of us who are not in the US, Thanksgiving has no significance.

If CF intends to celebrate Thanksgiving, it should also recognise that members outside of the US also have national days worthy of recognition.

There is an unfortunate stereotype of Americans being unaware that the rest of the world exists. Unfortunately this thoughtless recognition of your US national day, while ignoring the rest of us, only reinforces that stereotype.

For those who are looking to turn it off, go to your preferences ( click on your icon in the upper right hand. Look for the setting icon

Then choose Preferences

and in the first section of a very long list of preferences you'll see the box 'Display Holiday Styling un- checked. .

Check it Then click on SAVE at the bottom of the page and it's done!
