I'm probably going to see Les Miserables this weekend. Its closing its run here in St. Louis. Anyone else seen it? What did you think?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Despite all of the hype in the late 80's/early 90's about the show amongst the cultural-poseur tourists and the fact that it was overdone to the point where casting directors still refuse to hear someone sing from that show for an audition, it's still a great piece of theatre. Great story, great music, and they do quite a decent job of paring down Victor Hugo's 1463-page novel into a 3 hour show. It's a very moving show. Let us know how you liked it!

I saw the tour about two and a half years ago. The music is wonderful and the story is very touching. It quickly became one of my favorite musicals.

The show is fantastic. Some of the best music in the history of theatre. Just a heads up though, bring tissues - it's a tear jerker.

Les Mis is one of our very favorites. We saw it on the way to Broadway in the 90s. It's an incredible show telling an incredible story.NiteClerk said:

I first saw it when I was 8 and it's still my favourite musical! Great music, great story, great characters - in my opinion there's nothing to dislike about it!

For like, ten years my favorite musicals has been Cats. I love that musical and nothing was good enough to beat it....until Les Miserables. I saw merely a high school production of it, fell in love with it and now it's my all time favorite. The music is amazing, the story is so sad and it's just....oh man, I'm gonna cry just thinking about it.
