Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

How many years have you been going to college and how much do you owe in student loans?

I am in three years, and I think I owe about 20 grand.

Oh yeah, and are you parents paying for your education? That plays a big role. My parents aren't helping.

Yeah, but it's only about $5200/year, including books. Personally, I enjoy socialism. :)
Perhaps while not totally sharing your faith in the socialist state (although I admit some parts are really good), I am finished 3 years of uni and have no debt and am paying for it myself. :)

Awesome, how did you do it? Save up? Work all the time?

I'm determind not to go into debt, so I'd be interested to hear how you did it. :)

I've been going to college on-and-off for 6 years and have no debt... it's really nice when your parents are professors. My mom has this deal at her college where I can attend her college or a college on this exchange list for free. Quite a deal :D

Unfortunately, like all good things, it has to come to an end. Soon I must graduate and enter the real world. I like being a college student.

have been at University for nearlly 2 years now and no debts...my parents are paying for everything - except paper and pens - and the fees aren't really that high in Austria....we just have to pay something around 260 Euros per Semester - which is less than I get paid for the few hours I work per month...

I will start my 4th year in the fall.

$0 in debt

I have actually earned money during college. The account with my college fund is $12,000 higher than when I started because of the stock market and that includes the $7k per year we take out for tuition/books.
I go to CU Boulder btw. Yay in state tuition!

I won't owe anything for the first two years of my college experience. I'm starting at a local community college that my dad works at so my tuition is around $300 a year. I get a federal pelgrant for $800 a semester that takes care of my books and tuition. I just have to drive like 40 miles a day and I drive a big truck that gets like 10 miles to the gallon, but my parents are going to help pay for gas. I will also be working part-time. After my 2 years I'm transfering to Northern Illinois University. I expect to have about $10000 of debt at the very end of it all.
