How has following Jesus blessed your life

This is a question I was asked and surprisingly it was harder than I thought to answer. Like where do you begin? Then it just started to flow out

This was my response to her question.

Jesus blessed me with a very biblical sound church that helps me grow in faith. He surrounded me with wonderful Christian friends who watch out and make sure I stay on the correct path. A pastor who will message me anytime I miss church either on Facebook,text or voice calls .

He put me in a very christ driven family and two great uncles who are Gideon’s and that are willing to talk and help me understand things scripturally that I don’t get.

Two times he saved from two different sexual predators and .

And he has given me a sound mind

Good you have found what you seem to have sought.

Honestly, if He has taught us correctly ( man is unlikely to do so), the world will have turned against us and we can then see our fellow man for who we really are. That in itself is a blessing. As result we can reject the world that man has made in our own image and instead look to the Kingdom of God and live in it's ways (thus repenting) which runs contrary to the ways of mankind.

John 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

Why does it hate us? For the same reason the earliest Christians were called haters of men, for they did not want to adhere to the 'system'. Remember, it was a worldly system, both Roman and Jewish, that crucified Jesus. They both operated on worldly expectations which predominantly involve self. There are even those within Christianity who will seek us, expecting us to conform to the ways of man who are using God, rather than to God's will itself. Discernment is a must. Blessed to have come to understanding this counter-culture of the Kingdom.

I remember back in school I was never invited anywhere, I was “uncool” or a “bible thumper” or the best “one of those”

I also remember falling away from the church and people, ok my mom hounded me about not going to church. I had to learn for myself what we really need. I stumbled and some godly men reached out and corrected me . Even till this day they’ll correct me if I do something I shouldn’t.

There are many things, but one that stands out is freedom (or at least reduction) of worry. It is a great blessing to put things that our too much for us into Jesus's hands. I'm trying to do it more often. Instead of trying to solve the problem myself first and then turning to Jesus. I start with prayer and then follow the Holy Spirits guidance.

Blessed me too many times to count. One particular situation is with the man I love.

I am diagnosed with a severe brain disease called Schizoaffective disorder. I was sick as a dog, in and out of the hospital several times, on powerful medication, and I was hearing voices 24/7 and having paranoid delusions. I gave my life to Christ in 2003 and I am not healed yet but my symptoms have improved by leaps and bounds, I am now totally free from the delusions and also from depression and anxiety. I was hearing 3 voices in my head but just the other day 2 up and left and the 3rd one is much quieter and speaks less often! I think it was divine intervention! God healed me! I suffered with that alot over the years! I am believing for my miraculous healing and I believe it is coming!

According to medical science my improvement is impossible without powerful medication, however I did it by believing the word of God (the bible) and standing on it!

God has progressively increased my blessing over the years. Due to my own fault, my early Christian life was very rocky. But as time went on God took me from having hard labor to a good highly skilled easier job. From being single, and lonely to the point of wanting to suicide, to being happily married. From being full of doubts, and fears, to being faith-filled. From being scared of people to being confident in myself.

 

[Jesus is my Superhero]

There are too many blessings in my life to remember and remain conscious of. I cannot even attempt to compile a listing of greatest to less than greatest of blessings. I do find myself spending most of my prayer time in thanksgiving and awe of the Almighty God, and this certainly is an enjoyable place to be.

He has been working mightily in the life of my wife and myself. A door has been opened and all obstacles have been pushed aside to make it very clear and obvious in the direction we should walk. Stepping out in faith has been eye opening for both of us.
