How far did you move to be at your college/univ.?

The school I'll be going to is less than 2 hours away from home.

well, if there was an other option I would have picked that, but my first year of college I moved to Philadelphia (3,000 miles from my parents) and hated it. I discovered that I actually did like my family .

Now I just live about 100 miles south, and that is the perfect distance.

I did my undergrad about 80 miles away from home. It was pretty cool to have my parents at arm's length. They were far enough away that I didn't have them interfering in my daily life, which was good, because my parents love to micromanage. But they were close enough that I could visit them anytime I wanted, which was also good, since I like them.

Depending on where I get into grad school, I might be going all the way across the country. That'll be a different experience!

I started 6 hours away. Then came home for a couple of years to the same town.

Then I went 16 hours away to finish my BBS.

Now I'm in an external studies program that is on the other side of the country.

Hmm.. other I didn't have to move. My school is like 15 minutes away from my school.

I wasn't purposefully trying to get as far away from home as I could, but did end up far away.

My college is about a 36 hour drive from home, so I don't drive home. I live in California but go to college in Tennessee.

Both of the schools I have attended so far have been less than an hour away; the university I plan to attend this fall is also less than an hour away. I really don't have much desire to be far away from my family because I get along very well with all of them and I would miss them a lot if I couldn't see them.

when I first went to college, I was four and a half hours from but, this being Texas, I was still in state. Then I transferred to a school that was an hour and a half from home.
