I see many threats offereing advise to "talk to your pastor". Which.. when someone is having an especially difficult time I think is great advise... however, Pastors are busy people.. How hard/easy would it be for you to call and schedual an appointment with your pastor (say w/in 10 days.. because most big problems can't wait too long.. and I'm not talking death or near death trauma's which I know take presidence over other 'big issues'.

How big is your church?

We have about 600 that attend Sunday morning services. I don't think that even includes the children in Sunday school. I would probably send my pastor an e-mail but if I needed to talk with someone I could also address one of the assistant pastors or even my descon. If it were a hardcore theological issue of major trama I'm sure the pastor would come see me.

I think the people in my church would vote "very easy". We are a country church of about 70 people. My home phone number is the same as the church (one line for the church and parsonage). Everyone knows I am available 24 hours a day. I have made many trips to homes and hospital at 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning. Everyone else in the church is that accessible as well. They are very loving people.

I came here (7 1/2 months ago) from a large east coast church where I worked with the young adult ministry. Even in a church of over 800 people, the pastor there was always available to his people 24/7. He was a great mentor to me. I learned much from him about the love and compassion of Christ. He taught me by example that the life of a pastor is total commitment.

We are hundreds of miles apart now, but I know that I can call him anytime and talk to him personally...and I'm not even one of his church members anymore.

Our pastor is available 24/7 and often he will call us up just to check in. We have about 300 people on Sunday mornings, mabey 180-200 Sunday nights, 100 on Wednesdays. Now, while I train for the pastorate he has become a mentor to me, but even before that he was always available and kept in touch.

Consequently we are having a missions conference right now (I just got home from church). There was a guy there tonight who is church planting in Canada. He gave us some interesting stats... most especially

In Canada there are (around) 280 Independent Fundamental Baptist Churches.. Can you other Canadians believe that?!? Only 280 in the whole country!

It's pretty easy. He usually writes his sermons/studies in the afternoons at church (when he's not doing ministry), but he always returns his calls afterward, or accepts them if it's urgent. We have two main pastors, though, so one is always available if the other isn't.

My church has about 300 dedicated members that my pastors serve.

Other because I am currently trying to decide where to go to church at. However, I am considering going back to the Southern Baptist Church where I was raised and I do have the phone number of one of the elders/pastors (Not sure exactly what this guy is ). It's a small church with only about 75 members I think.

We go to a fairly large church. I think the average count per service (there are four services, all the same) is about 750 or more.

Considering the size of the church, I think it's pretty easy to reach any of the pastors. Most of them have responded to my e-mails within the same day. I'm certain, if it were an emergency, that they would responder even sooner.

VERY easy, we have a young Pastor who is very in touch with today's congregation. I help with the media and attend the worship planning meetings, so I work with him often. I watch him with others and he is a very gentle, caring, and loving man by nature (as I'm sure most Pastors our) He is very genuine, very sincere. I can't really say enough about him.

I haven't been on here in awhile, hope all is doing well.

It is easy in practice, but in actuality it is very hard for a lot of people to approach my pastor because everyone knows that he's so busy. He's very good at getting back to people, but not many people at my church like bothering him even though it's his job.

Yeah, I think that situation exists in a lot of churches. I guess people are afraid they will overburden the pastor. However, I suppose a good alternative would be to contact a church elder or other member of clergy.

i can talk to my pastor anytime i just don`t want to. see my grandpa is the pastor so for people that are related to the pastor it`s not as easy to talk to him. we have 200 at our church and then we have a mission pastor who is at a different church right now due to the fact that we need a pastor over there so when i need to talk to someone i talk to his son if it`s something inportant or i just talk to my godly friends. Theres nothing a pastor can say that a friend can`t.

Oh yes I forgot, BT does not want me to say that Pastors sin against the Holy Ghost because he is training to be one. BTW, how is your head?
No, I don't want you to say that pastors sin against the Holy Ghost because it isn't true. My head.. .depends on where I'm reading.
