Perhaps you heard what many people say regarding their belief in Yeshua as God and then you read the Bible and see that Yeshua was a man with a God. Your eyes are not deceiving you and you're reading it correctly. The one and only true God is the Father and the first begotten Son of God is Yeshua of Nazareth, the Messiah.

John 20:17
17Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’ ”

John 17:1-3
1Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, 2as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him.
3And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

John 5:44
44How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God?

1 Timothy 2:5
5For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,

1 Corinthians 8:6
6yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live.

Yes I’ve read John quite a bit and quoted it in my post. Did you know about the bits I quoted?
What I know is that there is no doubt that Jesus is in fact God, He said so Himself.

Except in John, if you’ve read it, contrary to the accusation against him of claiming to be God, he said he is a man. That’s a denial.

John 8:40
40But now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has told you the truthwhich I heard from God. Abraham did not do this.

Not at all, Jesus is 100% man and 100% God again John clearly tells us that.

I’ve seen him say he’s a man with a God. Nothing about being God himself. What are you referring to?
John 8:58 is an example. Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth … before Abraham was born, I am!". John 1:1, 14 — In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ... And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth; we have beheld his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father. John 20:28 — Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!”

6yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live.
In order to understand that Jesus Christ of Nazareth is God in the flesh we have to start from the very beginning of His revealing. From Genesis to Revelation He is the Alpha and Omega. God signified that He is the beginning and the end of all things. This is a reminder that God is eternal and all-powerful.
We also know that Jesus Christ of Nazareth claimed this title for Himself in the book of Revelation. In Revelation 1:8, He says, "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Living One. Additionally, Isaiah clearly reveals this through what we call the Trinity.

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Blessings

God signified that He is the beginning and the end of all things. This is a reminder that God is eternal and all-powerful.
The first prophetic revealing may be in Genesis 3 where it refers to him as a human born from a woman, not God.

Genesis 3:15
15And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her Seed;
He shall bruise your head,
And you shall bruise His heel.”

Another one is in Isaiah 7 where he is referred to as a human again who needed time to know to reject evil and choose good, obviously a different essential nature than God.

Isaiah 7:14-15
14Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call Him Immanuel. 15By the time He knows enough to reject evil and choose good, He will be eating curds and honey.
That's not a quote by Yeshua in Rev 1:8.

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Blessings
God's Son is never called the everlasting Father. Actually, most Trinitarians reject the Son is the Father. If the Son is the Father then Trinitarianism isn't Trinitarianism anymore. This verse isn't translated correctly.

For example, the part that says "Mighty God" are the exact words used for Ezekiel 32:21 where it's plural instead of singular in Isaiah 9:6

21The strong among the mighty
Shall speak to him out of the midst of hell
With those who help him:
‘They have gone down,
They lie with the uncircumcised, slain by the sword.’

a better translation for Isaiah 9:6 is this:

REV
For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will call his name Wonderful Counselor, Mighty Hero, Father of the Coming Age, Prince of Peace.

"I am" appears many times in the Bible where it doesn't mean God. Normally it isn't even translated as "I am" except for John 8:58. It's just translated that way by Trinitarians to help them.

John 1:1,14 says the word is God not Yeshua, and that Yeshua was begotten by God when God's word became flesh.

Thomas didn't say "you are God" and Thomas isn't an authority anyway. The important thing to notice is that Yeshua never claimed it. He taught his disciples that the only God is the Father.

John 17:3
3And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

Paul believed this as well:

2 Corinthians 1:3
3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,

All I can say is this interpretation , that Jesus was a great teacher and prophet, but not the Son of God or divine, is not the Christian world view. Thanks for engaging!

I didn't say he isn't the Son of God or that he isn't divine; he's both of those. As far as literally being God goes, no.

Yes He became flesh his creation "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" Everything that is was made by Him Jesus Christ. If you want to see the Father just look at Christ. If you seen me you have seen the Father "I have been with you such a long time, and have you not known Me, Philip? Whoever has seen Me, has seen the Father" "I and the Father are one"

The problem so many have is they try to understand this through mans eyes. We understand "me and my wife are one". Yet God is not a man nor does He think like on for He is a spirit. So when Christ says look at me...see me? You are looking at the Father for we are one. They are three yet one we do not cannot understand this for we live in this flesh and Christ told us...if you can't understand physicals fleshly things how can you understand spiritual things?

So according to what I read He is the great I am.. just read Rev and how He describes Himself. "“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

It refers to Christ being in the outward appearance of God. The behavior, the character, etc. Form refers to outward appearance. It also says he "did not consider equality with God something to be grasped" because no one grasps at equality with themselves. It refers to not being equal with God.

Philippians 2
6Who, existing in the form of God,
did not consider equality with God
something to be grasped,
The problem so many have is they try to understand this through mans eyes. We understand "me and my wife are one". Yet God is not a man nor does He think like on for He is a spirit. The Bible explicitly says that Christ is a man with the outward appearance of God. Holy, righteous, godly. This isn't an identifier of deity and imitating God was something Christ and Paul taught Christians to do.

Ephesians 5
1Be imitators of God, therefore, as beloved children,

So according to what I read He is the great I am.. just read Rev and how He describes Himself. "“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”
Revelation 1:8 isn't a quote by Christ. Obviously it's a different person. Look at the context where God and Christ aren't the same, referring to Christ's God and Father. Where God is mentioned, it is a reference to Christ's God, not himself.

Revelation 1:6
6and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Jesus also said, "Before Abraham was, I Am." That is a declaration of His divinity that enraged the Jews. He is called the visible image of the invisible God. (Colossians 1:15)

I've had several encounters with Jehovah's Witnesses, especially early in my Christian life. I was compelled to find the answers to their false teachings, which the Bible clearly refutes. I did not read books or listen to others. I determined the truth for myself. Jesus is both God and Man. Human logic and reason cannot understand this truth. It is spiritual, not natural.
