How does God guide us?

The Word of God says,'I will guide you with my eye'. 'I will instruct you in the way you should go'. How does God guide us?

Well, with those verses above I think context is needed. There are some things God may call us to do and make that known to us. Then we may not know how to achieve or begin, but if God makes it known to us, he will provide the way…such then the verses you have above come into play.

As far as God guiding us, that can come in so many different ways, speaking to us through his word. God using people to come into our lives at the right time. God showed Joseph in a dream what his life would become, and yet it didn;t seem to be coming to pass at all for many years. Joseph was betrayed and almost killed by his brothers, left to die, brought into slavery, falsely accused and thrown in prison….but Joseph did not depart from his God, and it was God guiding all his footsteps even in dire tribulation to get to the place he needed to be, even if Joseph couldn't see it.
I myself have had wonderful dreams that God has used to help guide me, encourage me in dire times also.

Thanks 'dragongunner'. So good to know that God guides us. The Word of God is a faithful guide for our life and the Holy Spirit hides us through His Word,as you say. I have found it true also,like you,thàt He guides through friends,who are mature in the things of God. Good counsel is essential when it is based on the Word of God. God guides in so many ways. We need to be good followers!

How good it is to to soak in the Word of God. Reading it is not enough. We need to feed on it because it is food to us spiritually. We need to apply it each day. Let it speak to us,as we meditate on it. Let it guide us with its' wisdom and counsel.'Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding,in all your ways aknowledge Him and He will make your ways straight' ( Prov.3:5-6)

How good it is to know that 'God sees the big picture of our life'. We feel sometimes that we are 'walking through a mist'. Things are not always clear and our vision is sometimes dim. But He 'knows the way that we take'. He is 'always watching over us' and 'working everything together for good in our life'. Whatever our situation,healthwise or otherwise,there is a way through the maze. God is with us. He is for us. There is hope as we trust in Him!
