  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How do you read "seventy and five thousand"? What is your rule, standard, or precedent? I read it as 70 and 5,000 for a total of 5,070. When combined with the earlier numbers in Esther 9 I find some amazing mana.

1st day killed 500+10
2nd day "the same" for 500 (can't kill the 10 twice)
300 killed not decreed by the king.

5,070+510+500-300=5,780. We are at Purim in year 5,780
5,070-510-500-300=3,760. Year of Christ or 2,020 years less than 5,780.

Numbers 1:25 Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Gad, were forty and five thousand six hundred and fifty.

How would it be understood in a verse like this one? Would it not be 45,650? I wouldn't think it would be 5,650 + 40 instead.

In like manner, in Esther 9:16 would it not be 75,000?
