I want to know how do you serve God? Do you serve God by doing a task with talents such as Preaching, cleaning, or something else? Or do you serve God, literally, as you would serve a King or a slave would serve a master? I desperatly need to know this. I MUST be serving God, or else eternal darkness lies ahead, and I have on foot of eternity and one in time. Death is also ringing my doorbell.

I serve God by reading the Bible, praying, and living the way he wants me to live. He has given me the gift of faith, and I put all my faith and trust in him and his word. In my prayer time he may ask me to pray for certain people, or to call some. The more you pray, read and study his word the more sensitive you will become to the Holy Spirit. He will direct you to what the Father wants you to do.

I sensed in the Spirit this was the root of your problem and replied already on this on your other post ("Help, I lost the peace..." post).

Please read that, respond if you have questions, and trust me. I am sure other Christians here will give you similar advice.

Read the Bible, study it, talk to God, pray. Then wait for opportunities to come. Serving is done in MANY different ways.

Some have a gift of helping others, and that's how they serve. Some have the gift of praying and they intercede and that's how they serve.

Some have a gift of encouragement and encourage others and thus serve.

Wait for God to put something to do on your heart. He speaks through our thoughts and desires. Remember, first seek Him and study. THEN, listen to your heart and try to do what your heart tells you in certain situations, certain moments. It could be anything: from replying to a post, to going to visit your grandma. "What you do to others, you do for me".
It could be singing in the church too. Many many different ways. AS LONG AS ALL IS DONE for the glory of God.

One of the first things which go into serving God , is meditating on + laying to heart all that God has done , is doing , and has promised He will do for us .

Then , in the spirit of gratitude , we focus our thoughts , words , and actions towards things which we understand are pleasing to God .

And though we may have some times of trouble , we persistently continue in the God inspired , great attitude of gratitude , to seek + pray to have a greater understanding and more a consistent witness , to ourself , to others , and to God .

In all things showing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine showing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,
Sound speech, that cannot be condemned;
... <-----> Titus 2:7+8

Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. <-----> 1st Timothy 4:12

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. <-----> 2nd Timothy 2:15

Additionally , since God is not needy by Nature , the bulk of our service towards Him is directed at others in need .

For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.
I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.
If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.
<-----> Psalm 50:10-12

O my soul, thou has said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extends not to thee;
But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.
<-----> Psalm 16:2+3

Peace and Love in Christ .

Dear JCGrace4ever. You had some good replies, and may I give mine too? What God wants most of us, is our love, our heart, our soul and our mind. God wants us to repent, i.e. to exchange our selfish way of thinking, and doing, into becoming His loving, caring, kind, forgiving, courteous and righteous sons and daughters. We are made in God`s image, we are His Own. As to serve God, Grace4ever, All we do, or say, which pleases God, we offer with grateful hearts. God can see our hearts, He knows our every thought and wish, and He will bless us a hundredfolds. I say this with love and blessed assurance. Greetings from Emmy, your sister in Christ.
