MY DEAR BROTHER IN CHRIST,

i have learned the hard way that in order to "LIVE FOR JESUS", i must first surrender to Him my ALL--everything i have, am, or have the potential to be becomes His property to do with as He will. Our Lord's injunction, "HE WHO DOES NOT TAKE HIS CROSS AND FOLLOW AFTER ME IS NOT WORTHY OF ME. HE WHO FINDS HIS LIFE WILL LOSE IT, AND HE WHO LOSES HIS LIFE FOR MY SAKE WILL FIND IT"(Matthew 10:38,39) i believe, was meant to be taken literally--with God, i've found, it is all or nothing. This was a hard but necessary lesson!
Once that step was taken--and it took me most of my life to ACTUALLY take it (as opposed to just talking about it on Sundays)--it has become a day-by-day--or rather minute-by-minute--process of continuous surrender to His will regarding each and every situation i find my self in. This requires continuous ongoing contact with our Lord through prayer and meditation--as per Saint Paul's injunction that we must "PRAY WITHOUT CEASING"(I Th 5:17). To this end, i use "The Jesus Prayer"--"LORD JESUS CHRIST, SON OF GOD, HAVE MERCY ON ME, A SINNER"--on a continuous basis throughout the day--aloud if i am alone, and in the quiet of my Heart if in public. This keeps me focused and alert to hear God's voice in order to understand and follow His wishes and directions for me throughout the day.
TRYING to follow the above has worked well for me and has turned my life around, especially during the last year or so, but lest i give the impression that i "have arrived", i would add that i am still learning and continue unable (or, more likely, unwilling) to carry the above out 24/7--i would estimate that i average probably 51% of the time adhering to the above ideal. However--ALL PRAISE BE TO OUR UNDERSTANDING AND COMPASSIONATE GOD--He seems to honor my desires and efforts to this end rather than judging me by my achievements, which remain sparse. Only Jesus was perfect; i, sinner that i am, am still struggling, but God blesses our struggles and ultimately rewards us with victory when we have given Him our best, puny though our efforts may be.

 ALL GLORY TO OUR LORD, GOD, AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST--BORN IN THE FLESH ON THIS GLORIOUS DAY!

One day at a time...one thought at a time. It is a choice. Live moment by moment with Jesus by my side. Knowing that willingly He died for me, lowly me, my putrid stinky sins. He deserves ALL of me living my best for Him. I thank Him daily for His unconditional love. Let go and let God do the work in your life. Let the Holy Spirit guide and direct your thoughts and actions.

I hope some of this helps.

I think Roman 12:9-21 sums up how God wants us to live. The Lord wants us to live in love.By loving one another were serving the lord.God Bless :)

Roman 12"9-21"Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality.Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position Do not be conceited.Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay,"says the Lord.On the contrary:
"If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head."Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."

1 Peter 4:8-10"Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms."

1 John 4:18-21"There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.We love because he first loved us.If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother."

Matthew 5:44"But I tell you: Love your enemies and Pray for those who persecute you."

1 John 5:2-3"This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome,"

1 Timothy 1:5"The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith."

1 Corinthians 13:13"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

1 Corinthians 13:4-7"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."

Romans 13:8"Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law."

Ephesians 1:4-7"For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace"

Hebrews 13:1" Keep on loving each other as brothers."

Ephesians 6:24"Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love."

A very simple answer:-

1. Follow the 10 Commandments,

2. Walk in the right way with him,

3. Read your bible

4. Pray and Praise

5 Join a church for fellowship and to learn

6. Trust and have faith in the Lord

None are in a specific order but do them all and your well on your way.

Make Christ not only savior but LORD! Diligently seek His will in all that we do and pray for guidance and direction at every turn. With the direction of the Holy Spirit, scripture and Christ you can't go wrong. I have seen in my own life the consequences of trying to do things my way, outside of God's will, no good. Christ embodied all of the good and Holy qualities that we should strive for and I have found that praying for His strength and His wisdom is an effective way to deal with issues and live for Him. There was a book written several years ago by DC Talk called "Live like a Jesus Freak." This provided many good pointers an advice for living for Christ. However, when in doubt and looking for direction in this category there is no better place than scripture. Praise God and Godspeed to you.

John 15:1-14
(1) I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
(2) Every branch in me that bears not fruit he takes away: and every branch that bears fruit, he prunes it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
(3) Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
(4) Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
(5) I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
(6) If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
(7) If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
(8) Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
(9) As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
(10) If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
(11) These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
(12) This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
(13) Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
(14) Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

Such varied and wonderful answers.

In addition, I pray to Him often that He will draw me closer and make me know Him more. As a result, I have fallen more and more in love with Him, and it is easy to follow where the heart leads.

And, as someone mentioned, let go and let God:

2 Cor 1:9
9 Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead.
(NIV)
Rom 12:1-2
1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God-- this is your spiritual act of worship.
2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-- his good, pleasing and perfect will.
(NIV)
Prov 30:5
5 "Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.
(NIV)
Isa 55:10-11
10 As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I [sent it].
(NIV)
Prov 3:5-6
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
(NIV)

I'll pray for you and your walk with Him, friend. God bless you.

Aloha in Jesus
