  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

God is speaking to you? I am 26 and going to school struggling to make it on my own. I recently had some complications and fears when renewing a lease at my apartments and I got an overwhelming feeling like I should leave after praying about it.. I almost felt forced to get out of my car and put in my notice and I did. I toiled over whether I made the right decision because this means I have to move back home and I really don't want to. But I kept praying like crazy, everyone I speak with when I explain the situation says I am doing the right thing, but I still want to stay where I am. So one night I was kind of breaking down asking God if I was doing the right thing and I had this horrible pounding in my head saying, GET OUT, over and over again. I actually thought I was going nuts.
So my question is, am I nuts or is God giving me an answer I don't like over and over again so much so that I am here asking all of you ?

Hello =)

Well, God speaks & moves us all differently I think.... the way He works
with you might not be how He works w/ somebody else.

One thing you might want to ask yourself is "how would I feel if I
had stayed despite this strange warning I keep getting?"
As much as you might not want to leave, it might be enough to keep you
from feeling comfortable living there anymore & you feel good being there
if you did stay.

I don't think any of us can tell you it's God or not... I can't.
& some of that truth might rely on the closeness [or distance]
of your relationship w/ the Lord too. I'm not prodding for
your personal info - just noting that if we aren't close w/ Him
sometimes, we can be missing His calls.

I hope this works out for you - keep seeking Him, sometimes it
takes time.

& welcome to CF too!

Hey Bk I understand where your coming from man I had to do the same thing a few months back. I know the anxiety and dread from moving your own place back into your parents house is enough to drive you insane. The only thing worse is if you endup in situation like me where you come to realize many of things are as bad as you thought and those that aren't are worse.

I think you did the right thing. Nadiine is right - God doesn't speak to all of us the same way but, for me, I have learned that it's God trying to warn me when the hair stands up on the back of my neck, when I'm suddenly full of dread with a strong need to do/go/call, when the same thought to call or visit someone keeps coming back time and again....things like that. Don't drive yourself nuts over thinking it - just keep praying and asking God to continue to guide you in all that you do.

With me it's always the mist that starts to fog all around

Big thing about hearing God is that it helps to turn off the distractions~our lives are filled with noise and activity and I think at times we give God 3 minutes and if we don't hear something we go on our own instinct (and usually our instincts stinks)..."Be still and know I am God"...

Wow! Those are exactly the kinds of things I would have said about how God speaks to me. I'm glad I'm not crazy!
