Thanks! Although, I think it is worth mentioning that there are times when parents do withdraw their love and support for their children. God gives us a good example for raising children, but not everyone lives up to that standard (or even tries).
Second, I think sometimes we might find ourselves in situations where we've gotten ourselves into a pickle, but God uses those times to teach us about ourselves and how we can avoid similar traps. He may not cause the issue
per se, but She does cause does cause good to come out of those situations if the person is open to learning.
However, as Proverbs 26:11 says: "As the dog returns to its vomit, so the fool returns to their folly." That became one of my favorite verses after actually seeing a dog lick up their own spew.
All excellent points.
Parents do withdraw at times from older children when they choose
to go their own way but parents who know the love of God in
their own lives would never stop loving their children
God is the perfect one and He calls us to grow up and be like Him.
Will we be perfect in this life? ...no.
But can we have moments when we have choices before us
and with God's help we choose the right way...God's way, God's will?
One choice at a time we can do the will of God in our lives and
in those moments we can know that we have done the perfect will of
God for that moment in our lives.
Jesus taught us about the Father...
God is the author of His creation and He is the one who
defines Himself and defines us.
We do not define Him or ourselves, God is the creator and so He defines.
God existed before us and He has thought every thought or
idea before we ever existed. God defines the term and role of Father, not us.
So it is best to defer to His own defined role and not to try to redefine
who He Himself has defined Himself as.
After all He is the originator of the concepts of male and female.
It is no mistake that God calls Himself a Father.
God originated that roll that He fills so completely.
Jesus confirmed that role of God as Father throughout His teachings.
So my dear you know why I brought this up, not to argue but
so that you can see that God was a Father ever before He made
human beings, so we here on earth are a reflection of what existed before us.
So who are we to redefine God out of our need to be politically
correct or because we do not want to offend someone
when God has already clearly defined Himself and us.
Luke 11
The Model Prayer
1 Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place,
when He ceased,
that one of His disciples said to Him,
“Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.”
2 So He said to them, “
When you pray, say:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as
it is in heaven.
Give us day by day our daily bread.
And forgive us our sins,
For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us.
And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.”
I am going to follow Jesus as closely as I can and
not follow people trying to be politically correct.
I know you have a good heart and want to follow Christ
so listen to Him and beware of those who change His words to
suit their own agendas....
God loves you and so do I so that isn't the issue here,
what is at stake here is...
who are you going to believe and
who are you going to please....
Jesus trumps all others....
