How do YOU know God is real?

So, how do YOU know God is real? What makes you believe?

because I know that i'm real. Gods in you, and me. In fact, psalms say, "we are all gods".

I know that God is real because He lives in my heart. He goes with me everywhere and is in everything I do.

I had some serious experiences with Him, which I dont want to share here.

Sharing these experiences wouldnt bring anyone closer to God I guess. In fact I must say that God makes Himself known to those people who truly seek Him. I dont know HOW God reacts to the individual though, but I can say that we are all individuals and there seems to be a reason why one individual believes and the other does not.

However, I am convinced that if we truly seek Him, we will find HIm... God knows the hearts of men and will not make a fool of Himself though... we cannot toy with Him, we cannot use Him, He is not for hire, and we cannot fire him either...

A good analogy is we don't see the wind, but we see how it moves things.

Even so, we may not be able to see God, with these human eyes, but isn't it obvious when we look around at all the intricacies, delicate balances, and vast displays in this world and beyond, that someone with awesome creative power and intelligence is responsible ?!!

And beyond that we have personal testimonies...but the universe itself is a tremendous witness of God !

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows his handiwork.
Day unto day utters speech, and night unto night shows knowledge.
There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. <-----> Psalm 19:1-3

I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands. <-----> Psalm 143:5

For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: <-----> Romans 1:20

For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: <-----> 2nd Peter 3:5

Well... where do I even begin?!

I believe....
1. Because I have experienced His immediate help and answer to prayer.
2. Because I can see the Unity in the Scripture, which only He could have planned.
3. Because I live in a family Of 7, and my dad was unemployed for 3 years... God sustained us when we didn't have an income for *3 WHOLE YEARS!!!!*
4. Because He is changing my life.
5. Because He claims in His inerrant and infallible Word that He is GOD and that there are no other gods.

Thats all I'm going to put this time... but I think it's rather a lot!

I'm sorry, but where in the Psalms does it EVER say that??!! And what version? God says "Thou shalt have NO OTHER gods before Me." I think that pretty much debunks the whole idea of any of us being "gods."

Psalm 82:6 "I said, 'You are "gods"; you are all sons of the Most High.'

Not sure what context but there it is.

Please excuse if it seems I'm jumping in -

I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.
But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes. <-----> Psalm 82:6+7

Words take on somewhat different meaning when used differently.

Hardly any word has only one rigid, narrow definition, or accepted applicable meaning.

Consider also -

Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
Jesus answered them, Many good works have I showed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makes thyself God.
Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemes; because I said, I am the Son of God? <-----> John 10:31-36

In these usages of the word "gods", it appears to be a reference to the fact that we were made "to be in God's image", hence like "little gods".

When The Lord said, to "have no other gods before Him", He mainly refers to not putting anyone or anything above Him, as though He were less than they in any way, especially with regard to serving and worshipping, ( for that would be a lie).

I know because I sense Him near, I hear Him speak in my heart when I am sad and I see Him in the love my friends and family has shown me. I know He is real because He remained there when I pushed Him away, and He brought back the light in my life through an ex-friend. I know He is real because He helped me through my problems.

I know He is real because He helps me stay happy, despite it all. I know He is real because I should be dead from all the things I have done. I know He is real because my heart no longer feels heavy.

How do I know?

Experientially - The Holy Spirit, answered prayer, guidance, God speaking to me
Intellectually - adequate evidence and a consistent worldview to live by
Seeing changes in others when I pray for them, sometimes quite significant and dramatic
The trustworthiness of the record of God's story of his interaction with humanity contained in the Scriptures.

I know because ever since I set out to seek Him with my whole heart, my whole mind has changed. The way I think has changed, and I have been healed of demonic thinking. I have felt peace, and have been able to cry in a way I haven't done in years or maybe my whole life. He has helped me to give up countless bad habits, and that is proof in itself, because I couldn't do it alone. Everything that I do involving the Word turns out good and works better than anything I've ever tried before. He's real!

Love this! And we feel the wind without seeing it.

For me, I know God is real because I feel His presence when I seek Him out. Whether it be becuase I am full of joy because something wonderful is happening in my life or I am sad and lonely, I know He is there.
