It seems that the week long revival is a thing of the past. Why are churches getting away from revival services? Paul said that not all ministers were pastors. How does an evangelist get more places to speak at?

You have to get your own tent and set it up.
Church buildings are more of a place for weekly clydesdale trodding type worship.
A tend is for speed racing evangelism.

Speaking as a pastor, I would say that the week-long "revivals" are a thing of the past. My advice is to get alone with God and seek His direction. He always produces something fresh in our lives when we seek Him with our whole heart.

Just an idea: The Lord asked us to begin *Church in the Park* ~ as an outreach to all those who would never set foot in a church building. No tent necessary. No chairs. People bring a blanket & picnic. we have some sound equipment for the mike & that's it. Pretty simple really.

Evangelist are not called to preach to Christians in churches, an evangelist is suppose to be preaching to the unsaved. And no evangelist ever lacked a place to preach if all he focused on were the lost. Sorry brother but my church is full of Christians and they were revived or brought to life when they were born again.

BTW I'm not serious, this is a joke.
Here is what you do. First you find a Pastor that says don't judge a lot. Second you get a soapbox, Third you get a megaphone, Forth you wait till Sunday and set the soapbox up in front of the pulpit. If anyone complains just tell them not to judge.
(If they drag you out shout "Their judging me" over and over)FYI I have been tempted to do this myself once to one Church.
Muhahahahahaha!!! Just kidding. But in all seriousness you could always just try street preaching if you don't figure anything out as far as the revival thingy you want to do. The Church Park thing is a good idea.

OP, I've got a question for you:
If your phone rang tonight and the voice on the other end said "I need help! I have a conferance with 500 people, but no speaker. I need you to preach five one-hour messages between 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM TOMORROW." Could you do it?
Most preachers could. After years of practice they have "prefabs" - Individual messages or short series of messages for exactly occations like that.
Make a list of these massages that you can do, or even lists of messages & series that you WANT to do - Spiritual Warfare, Apologetics, Prayer, anything and everything you can think of.
Next, make a web site introducing yourself, your heart, and the place you feel God has called you in His body. Include a link to a page with the list of messages you can deliver.
Next go to Staples and get some business cards & letterhead. Don't get all fancy with titles and what not. No one cares of you're President & CEO if you're also the guy who mops the floors & cleans the toilet.
Then send letters to every church & pastor that you know however far away that are, and also every church that you feel in harmony with within a 100 mile radius from your house. Say that you're available for "Pulpit Supply," for mid-week Bible studies, for Sunday School, Youth Groups, VBS, seminars, men's meetings, women's meetings, drug & alcohol recovery meetigns.
Cast your bread upon the water, and see what comes back. At the very least you'll have tremendous personal edification from the message outlines you prepare.

As far as finding speaking engagements, pastors are always looking for guest speakers. So just ask.
As far as the revival meeting idea... In most of the United States and Europe (as far as I understand, have witnessed, and been told) that is not a practical way to do evangelism any more. A lot of people in western societies have been exposed to Christianity already in one way or another and if they don't belong to a church it may very well be because they have negative ideas about it. Revival meetings are not going to attract people who have a negative perception of the Church. Revival meetings are not going to attract people who are already involved in the Church either - unless they're helping facilitate it. From what I understand, the style of week long tent evangelistic meetings was popular in the USA during a time in American history when that was the most exciting form of entertainment in the town, and it would attract anybody who wanted to be entertained. That is not longer the case in the western regions. It may still work in places in the world where it's still a form of entertainment. That I don't know for sure. Maybe you should become a missionary.

Go preach. BUT FIRST: Spend a LOT of time in prayer.
You no pray - you no preach. OK?
When you consistently draw big crowds, pastors will contact you and beg you to come and preach at their churches with the hope of filling their pews with big check-writers hungry for good, Christian, ear-tickling, entertainment. The bigger the crowd you can draw, the bigger the church that will invite you and the bigger the honorarium they will offer.
If you get really well known, denominations will contact you begging you to join them and go on their TV broadcasts so people can send money to them too.
Oh yeah, a few people will get saved.

How many synagogues asked John the Baptist to come and preach?

But, really. Don't look to pastors to validate your calling or to give you an opportunity to preach a revival to "their" sheep on Sunday morning. (When the main collection is taken) God will validate your ministry with signs, wonders and miracles IF YOU SPEND THE TIME IN PRAYER NECESSARY TO LET THE HOLY SPIRIT PREACH THROUGH YOU.
Maybe you can get a shot at the Wednesday night Bible-study crowd. Don't despise small beginnings.
