How do you feel about being pregnant?

Just curious - how do you feel about it?
For me, I feel 1) very very happy because my husband and I really wanted the baby (and it came after 1 or two months!!)
2) a little discouraged - because I like my job, which I will have to leave for a couple of years - and losing contact with the world around, maybe?
3) more and more lazy and... shapeless?? ;-)
I'd love to hear from you, girls!

I haven't been pregnant yet. I've been planning on it for a while and preparing myself. Uh, I'm not so keen on the weight gain aspect since I'm already overweight. I would like to lose more but we'll just see what happens I guess.

xDenax: I have a friend who lost 8 kg over the first three months, but then she was really sick, not only in the mornings, so I hope this doesn't happen to you :) I gained some 6 kg in 5 and a half months, which I think is tolerable, as I'm normally underweight (or at least that's what my mother is saying all the time...)

Assisi: Congratulations on your happy life :D Your 2 kids, are they twins?

I don't know if I would say I am excited, right now I "just am". I am rather uncomfortable to be honest (Pelvic Symphysis problems again, lower back issues) - but I have lost a lot of weight and am carrying mostly baby weight, so I think that is a plus.

I'm nervous about the blood glucose test coming up on Friday morning first thing... and getting a little nervous about the 'endgame'. Trying not to, but after the last delivery being so hectic and long, I am hoping and praying I have a normal delivery without induction, and no pain meds (I went pain med-free last time as well, but I had no breaks between contractions).

Otherwise I am taking it one day at a time. I just got over the morning sickness phase recently, so I am working on just feeling better and trying to do what I can. :)

Thanks!:)

Actually I have one living child, Matthias. My first two died in utero, Gabi in the second trimester and Frances in the first trimester due to a thrombophilia I have. Now we know I have it I can be treated and my odds are nearly as good as everyone elses.:) I'm grateful for all my children, even the ones who didn't stay for long.

No twins for me. But every time I hear that someone is pregnant with twins I get a pang of jealousy! Terrible I know, but I love kids and twins is an efficient way of getting more!^_^

Me too. But I'm praying for the baby to be on time, or at least close to on time, even more! ^_^

I hope you start feeling better soon. I'm finding it hard to feel healthy too, I keep getting sick. It's so hard to eat right when you're morning sick!

I was like that for maybe 2 or 3 months, and couldn't quit at work (not even stay at home for longer than 4 days) because of the responsibilities that I had...
Did blood glucose, too, waiting for the results :)
How do you manage, with the heat wave right now? (I guess it must be hot in DE, too, as you are next door from us.) and may I ask why you decided to go without pain killers while giving birth? Thanks and...good luck :)

Hey, a friend from church had twins some two years ago, and guess what, she's expecting another pair of twins now :) I think they were not that happy when they first found out, though.

One of the worst things you can do is take your morning bus to work when you are morning sick..had to do it ALL the time for months. The driver did have to let me out before we got to my stop a couple of times; had he not let me out... :)

It was awful. 5 months of it, I never would have imagined!

Well, so far it has not been very hot. We keep getting overcast weather that is cool (18-27°C), then we have a few warmer days (27-31°C), and rain again to cool it all off. ^_^

My DH purchased us a stand/oscillating fan that works *wonders* when it is hot, or I work hard in the house so that I don't get overheated.

As far as the no painkillers, it has a lot to do with the fact I do have red-hair and would a)require more b) it would transfer to the baby and c) create nursing issues.

If it comes down to an epidural my answer is no, not even for a c-section - since I have back problems due to previous car accidents, and I have a fear of anything spinal since I required a spinal tap as an infant (they thought I had meningitis not long after I was born)..

I had a natural birth last time, and it honestly wasn't that bad, except not having breaks between contractions. :) I figure if I could have done that without breaks, I sure can do it again with breaks ;)

Well, yesterday the U/S was saying October 30th.. :D - but DH and I know differently. Original due date is Nov 15, that is with the date of conception being known, and LMP being known... we have a history of late delivery in my family (and with our son), so I expect somewhere around the due date - Thanksgiving, since I am allowed only to go 1 week over.

How do I feel?

Umm, a bit lonely being that I am 10 hours away from home and my loved ones in a brand new place where I know no one because I am in grad school.

I have family members and my fiance' come to visit often. Matter of fact, my mother has been with me for two weeks visiting, she will be leaving on saturday (I will probably cry). Someone from my church back home is coming in another week, my grandmother coming the next week and my best friend the next week, I am thankful that I have loved ones that care enough to come visit me so I wont be in a new city all alone and pregnant.
