  1. Welcome to Christian Forums, a forum to discuss Christianity in a friendly surrounding.

Your voice is missing! You will need to register to be able to join in fellowship with Christians all over the world.

We hope to see you as a part of our community soon and God Bless!

  2. The forums in the Christian Congregations category are now open only to Christian members. Please review our current Faith Groups list for information on which faith groups are considered to be Christian faiths. Christian members please remember to read the Statement of Purpose threads for each forum within Christian Congregations before posting in the forum.
  3. Please note there is a new rule regarding the posting of videos. It reads, "Post a summary of the videos you post . An exception can be made for music videos.". Unless you are simply sharing music, please post a summary, or the gist, of the video you wish to share.
  4. There have been some changes in the Life Stages section involving the following forums: Roaring 20s, Terrific Thirties, Fabulous Forties, and Golden Eagles. They are changed to Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, and Golden Eagles will have a slight change.
  5. CF Staff, Angels and Ambassadors; ask that you join us in praying for the world in this difficult time, asking our Holy Father to stop the spread of the virus, and for healing of all affected.
  6. We are no longer allowing posts or threads that deny the existence of Covid-19. Members have lost loved ones to this virus and are grieving. As a Christian site, we do not need to add to the pain of the loss by allowing posts that deny the existence of the virus that killed their loved one. Future post denying the Covid-19 existence, calling it a hoax, will be addressed via the warning system.
  7. There has been an addition to the announcement regarding unacceptable nick names. The phrase "Let's go Brandon" actually stands for a profanity and will be seen as a violation of the profanity rule in the future.

How do demons enter our lives, and sometimes ourselves (bodies, minds)?

The term we often hear is “open doors”: They enter when we give them the opportunity to.

Notes a preacher: “Every person on the face of the earth is a target of satan’s kingdom. He devises a plan to ruin and destroy each person, there is no one who is exempt.

“Normally, Christians are hedged about so that demons can’t enter into them (yes, despite what some would adamantly deny, Christians can be demonized). Normally, non-Christians are also protected to a certain extent in that the Lord does not allow demons to violate their free wills. An opening in the protective hedge must be made before demons can get into a person’s body.

“That said, demons do not always automatically leave the body of a demonized person when converted to Christ. The convert may need to have prayer for deliverance.”

One such prayer for protection is here.

    Possible demonic doorways:

“Sinful sexuality. Pornography. Addictions. Drugs. Fortunetelling. New Age meditation (such as Transcendental Meditation) and New Age visualization. Practicing yoga. Laying on of hands from someone who is demonized (demons can transfer). Tattoos, especially if the tattoo is an evil figure or an occult symbol. Making oaths or pledges to wrong sources.”

These are on his list. We can add some very important entry points, such as unforgiveness, holding a grudge, disobedience, and untruthfulness.

When we lie or even only “fib” — perhaps just shade or omit the truth — we are granting entry to demons and an easy one at that, for Satan knows this entry more than just about any other. After all, he is the Prince of Lies.

He is also the Prince of Pride, and when we’re haughty, arrogant, egotistical, superior, condescending, harshly critical, purveyors of gossip, rude, crude, or simply puffed up — often over our spirituality, money, possessions, or politics — this also opens the door. We can even be proud of not having pride!

Satan is also the Prince of Death — a “murderer from the beginning,” said Jesus — and so anything that points to human demise likewise opens gateways to the demonic.

This doesn’t just mean homicide, suicide, or abortion, but also things we do that shorten our lives or those of others, such as overconsumption (of food or drinks), pollution, failure to take care of the body (temple of the Holy Spirit), reckless driving, ignoring safeguards, and so forth. Watch all your thoughts. They count!

When there is an obsession with anyone or anything, this too opens a door, as does any form of anger.

    Anger is a big deal.

And not just a prayer although a prayer or declaration can produce a moments deliverance...BUT....what is a person later doing with their spirits and minds and bodies. Jesus even stated one can be delivered BUT if they don't fill themselves with his word and presence by worship and praise and obedience to God .....they're opening the door to it coming back and even getting worse. It's not to cause one to fear for victory over demons is far more of a reality then what Satan can do BUT.....one must take the spiritual life seriously. (see Luke 11:25)

As you guys probably know, my house could be considered "haunted". I just saw a shadow of the "grim reaper" the other day, walking along the wall. I feel this is happening to me because of my last husband's interest in the occult.

Have you asked a priest to assist in getting that stuff out?

I asked one priest who said then said he "didn't believe in demons". (That was sad to find out.) I didn't ask Fr. "Bad Temper" for good reasons. And we have a fairly new priest at another church I go to that I haven't approached about this yet.

I did get some blessed chalk, Holy water and many pictures with Jesus in them. I wrote over 2 different doorways with the chalk. As soon as my church re-opens, I will talk to someone.

When you talk about the happenings in your house, it reminds me of those paranormal shows I’ve seen on television.

It is like those shows. But, demons have been after me for so long, I'm almost used to it. I get worn down by them because they disrupt my sleep. I open my eyes to get up at night and one of them is walking toward me. (They then instantly disappear.)
The scariest one was my first encounter with a "negative force" when I was a child. It felt like it was grabbing my feet and felt really hot. But, then I didn't have any encounters until I married my late husband. Then it was ramped up like crazy. It happened on a regular basis. I have had some beautiful consolations from Jesus too. He has come to me a few times. An angel told me that I "get on Satan's nerves." At least that let me know I wasn't going off the deep end--but, it was spiritual.
