Every thought about it?

How well can you know God? What limits are there on a relationship with God? Are there ways to over come those limits?

Its not really a question for testimony, rather a theological question. So often our relational potential is not talked about. I mean is there a limit in the depth of spirituality that a man can obtain, his ability to interact with God? And what would that limit be?

Can you describe what level in Christ, you would call your 'dream' level. (Kind of like describing a dream house.)

I believe that God is willing to show as much of Himself to us as we desire and are willing to go after. I personally don't think He places any limits on the relationship.

In reading the Old Testiment I have been awed at the relationship that Moses and Abraham both had with God. Abraham was referred to as "the friend of God". And then in Deut 34:10 after the death of Moses, it says, "And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face."

I think that would be my dream level right there. . . face to face. . . with God.

Hi SnuP this is right where I'm at. I would love to see him face to face but that's not what I am looking for. As of now I know of no limits. What makes this even better is I believe the desire came from GOD. So maybe he wants to see how far do I want to go.

Please share more..

Scripture says that the Holy Spirit is our Counsellor, Teacher, Guide, Comforter and much more. I do not see how this is possible unless there is the intimacy of two-way communication. This to me is a practical intimacy that is paramount.
I, after 26 years, experience it as ongoing.
I expereince other thing such as goose bumps, heat, body movement, and other things also.
In this way, I do not need to go anywhere else for what is needed to know in order to do what He tells me to do.

WOW, and the truth is, you already have it.

the only thing missing is weather or not you are willing to let go and just grab it.

Your belief that you can't, that your not ready, is your ownly limitation.
Well just hit me upside the head with that spiritual hammer. I need it.

You're right, it's me who is putting limits on the relationship. I never really knew that I had such limits until recently when I again, began feeling (can't trust feelings) overwhelmed by the pressures of life.

I'm in a situation where I am doing all I know to do humanly, yet have no relief from the pressure. I then tend to conclude that I'm doing something wrong, therefore, I withdraw out of concluding that God is withdrawing and not going to do anything for me because I'm disappointing to Him.

I'm not a novice. I know that is "stinkin' thinkin'". Drawing closer to God and ignoring the voice, that is'nt God's, that is telling me I'm disappointing to God is only way I can overcome. You know that scripture, "Draw near to God, resist the devil and he will flee? Fits in perfecly in this situation.

Drawing near to Him is the only place I am safe. He is my only refuge. Whatever areas I truly am falling short in, He's the only One Who can show them to me and change me me at the same time. The flesh just does not want to die. . .yet it must.

There are no limits to His love. It's everlasting. Even though I don't deserve it, He will never, no never, not ever stop loving me. Or anyone else.

This morning I again felt His peace over me when I was able to put the fears aside and get into His presense. The song that came forth during that time was simple but profound and expressed His undying love and faithfullness to me.

Thanks Jason, I needed that bonk on the head. . . To bring all of that back to my remembrance.

You seem to have a deeper understanding of reality, then most of us.

It is often times so simple to touch God, to feel God. We are the ones who complicate everything. A God who accepts us as we are, and Who's love never fails, Who's only desire is to pure love on us, we so often miss it. Through our judgements of Him and of ourselves.

If I can just call on His name to feel His presence, if I just have to open my mouth to hear His voice, why do I spend most of my day alone? This question is a question that I think that far too many christians can identify with.

A friend of mine is going to South Africa in Jan to a Art/Ministry school. What she told me was incredible. A man there from Manila is said to walk in an anointing like Elisha. He teaches on how to walk in the gift of a prophet. You come into the classroom, and he "reads your mail" as if you were transparent. He then tells you that a true prophet has signs and wonders that follow him. He then asks each person how many dead have came to life after they prayed for them, and how many limbs, eyes, ears, etc were grown back and totally healed after praying for them. He then tells you that if you haven't raised the dead or miraculously healed anyone, to go home. You're not ready. A girl who went there this last summer took a course on public speaking. Her final exam was to go to a mall on a certain date & time & find 2 people that she would forever be connected to in ministry within 2 hrs. One of the people she found told her 'the Lord told me I would be meeting an American today... I've been expecting you." Let me tell you. After hearing this, all the gifts I have of healing, and hearing from God are squat compared to how these people opperate in the things of God. I realized just how spiritually lazy I am. My "dream" relationship is to walk in that kind of anointing. That I am so with God that miracles are a minutely occurance in my life. That's what I want.

1 Corinthians 14:13 "Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret"

I would suggest that everyone continue to develop a consistent prayer life in tongues and begin stepping out in the area of interpretation within that devotional time. Interpretation of tongues opens up a whole new realm to us where God is able to more clearly reveal his plans for our lives.

Hi SnuP sorry, I was away. Not sure about "would look like" what do you say?

It's a hunger that I can't control. It pulls at me 24/7 and I believe more than a person loves or knows there spouse or childern I have to have that with him. I have started up this road and I can not stop.
