My eyesight is failing. I am not medically safe to drive until an ophthalmologist clears me, and I can’t even get in to see one until November. Meanwhile my husband has to drive me anywhere I go, whether it’s a medical appointment or to work. He works overnight shift, so I try to plan my appointments for early morning or late evening, so he’ll have time to sleep. He doesn’t want me taking the bus. He says it isn’t safe.
I also have other health issues going on, and it’s getting difficult to get in to see any kind of specialist. I understand that’s a problem for everybody everywhere. Several months ago I made an appointment that isn’t the best time of day for hubby, but I explained to him that I made it at a time when I thought I would be driving myself, before my eyes started going bad. He understood. We very plainly discussed date and time of the appointment, along with the physical location. Unlike some, this is not an appointment by Zoom. I actually have to go to the office.
We have had several discussions in the past week or so about this upcoming appointment. Which is tomorrow. When I heard him just now trying to set up plans to do something with his nephew tomorrow, I reminded him. Don’t forget I have that appointment tomorrow.
He acted like that was the first he was hearing about it. Then when he remembered I had mentioned it a few times, he said he was under the impression it would be by Zoom. Which, of course, would be why he asked me to give him the address of the place. Right?
He doesn’t like for me to write him notes. He always says just tell him.
How could I have communicated it more clearly?
