Take a lesson and see for your self. Most studios offer a free first lesson to new people.

If you can have someone camcord your movements then watch it and critique yourself it may help.

Not always. I've got a member in one of my classes that is not being told they have no calling for ballet but because the mom is super nuts about her daughter dancing and pays for extra lessons they stay blind.Sad.
