I don't know yet!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gah. There are costume parties all this weekend and next, but I've been so busy with midterms and perpetual events that I haven't gone costume shopping or given this much thought at all. Last year I was also bombarded with obligations of life and didn't have time to plan out a costume, so I just created one from my closet at the very last minute. I went as Britney Spears circa 1999; I just used my school uniform and a few items from my closet to transform into her "Hit Me Baby One More Time" look.

I might ask my mom to send some of my dance costumes to me and then go from there. I went as a peacock in 2012 and that was my favorite costume ever. Unfortunately I grew so it doesn't fit. Le sigh.

Haha, why is this in the philosophy section? It would be fun to go as "Kim Kierkegaardashian" but that would be so esoteric creating the costume would be more challenging.

I like to read from Butlers "Lives of the Saints" personally, but as role models for someone like me with little talent for leadership and organisation etc, they are unattainable ideals.

I think that psychologists say that is bad, comparing oneself with the ultras of society can damage self efficacy and self esteem scores. And from therte motivation, attitude etc. So we have "all saints day" for the ordinaries like me, but I dont resally believe in saints anyway in a literal sense. Its more of a Christian concept.

Its notable that on TV there an ongoing halloween theme, in pop culture, childrens show, music etc. I think next to Christmas its the earliest bird to wake. I think its sad that more is not made of saints day too. The idea than goodness is boring, thats a social construct with potentially harmful consequences.

Maybe "all saints" would be state intervention in religion, whereas halloween is a secular and therefore permissible day to celebrate. Why so serious?
