  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Alright, if you guys haven't checked out their new album, you really should. There are not too many bands in the Christian scene that I can really get into (especially one Gotee Records [though there are a few exceptions]), but this albums is great from start to finish.

They have some songs up on www.purevolume.com/houseofheroes

Seriously, if you even remotely like Jimmy Eat World or Weezer or melodic rock, do yourself a favor and give them a listen. I've had a promo copy for a little while now and it is terrific.

i listened to some of their music from their website. their not bad. they sound like Emery a little bit.
The Emery album is nothing compared to this. Emery is so boring on their cd, this is far more interesting. What songs did you listen to? Are you sure they were new ones?

I saw House Of Heros live. The local bands outplayed them. They did HORRIBLE. I like their music. But the only song they played well was Mercedes Baby. They wrecked their set. Serial Sleepers is not as good as Mercedes Baby. HOH makes alright music. Horrible shows.

Maybe they were having an off night or something. I saw them play right after What You Want Is Now came out and they were tight. I remember being impressed at how close their live show came to their studio sound. I mean, granted, it's only three guys, so they can't do all the guitar layering and such, but they played really well. Any band that can play instruments like them and manage to pull off pitch-perfect three part harmony is alright in my book.

Perhaps I saw them on a good night, or maybe you saw them on a bad night. The world may never know.

Oh so not true. That's incredibly sad that they had a bad night when you saw them, but I've seen em a few times over [cuz they were a local band where I lived] and they're great. I saw em at Cornerstone too [2003] and that was a great, fun show.

I'm glad the rest of the world is getting to know about them too. I haven't picked up their new cd yet, but I hope to do so this week [along with the Wedding's new cd]
I'm glad they also put a couple of their old songs on this new cd. Then again I love pretty much all of the songs from their "indie" cd. Anyhow, They're a good pick on Gotee records part. That makes me happy.

Why would you not like Gotee Records? I think they're a pretty good label.

Gotee Artists worth Lisening to:

Sarah Kelly
Mars Ill
House of Heroes.

well, that's a better roster than Victory Records boasts. Or Saddle Creek, for that matter.

They've got some of the best Christian hip-hop artists out right now like Deepspace 5, Grits, 4th Avenue Jones, Verbs, John Reuben, & Mars ILL as mentioned.

The other artists you listed are good too.
