Origin: He had been caught in a warehouse fire when he was 12 and some radioactive material exploded from the heat and hit him. He blacked out and woke up to find himself on fire while the warehouse he had been in was long since in ashes. He ran to a nearby pond and jumped in. He almost passed out from the pain it brought him. He came out of the water to find he didn't have any burns. He was given a hard time by some kids afterwards so his parents sent him to train in martial arts. He spent 6 years learning different forms of martial arts. He worked out constantly and at his house one day, as he was training, he found himself getting angry and suddenly bursting into flame. The house caught fire and his parents became trapped. They died in the fire along with his sister. He vowed to learn how to control his power. He then went to Xavier's School for the Gifted and learned how to control his power. He was involved in the war. After the war he didn't know what to do. He heard about Magneto's new school and he decided he should check it out and keep an eye on Magneto. He heard he was changed and that Xavier had trusted him with this school but Matt couldn't let an old grudge go that easily.
