  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Seems the weather is going to be heating up for Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Hopefully we won't have a repeat preformance of the last couple of fire seasons. Heard a rumour that there was somesort of fire down the south coast this morning. Does anybody know anything about it????

don't know.. it's all very weird in Sydney. Today we're getting cloud covers AGAIN!
Strange how it's sunny but not too sunny, then clouds come in but not cloudy enough to rain....

Remember last year, that was funny. It was burning hot in the morning, and as soon as it reaches 11am it starts pouring rain till 4pm. Then if it was raining in the morning, where every one brings an umbrella or a rain coat to work, in the afternoon it's amazingly scorching hot......

It's so unpredictable.

Remember the Hail Storms that wrecked UNSW?
I live near UNSW, so my apartment got wrecked big time....I remember going back to school soon after that and there wasn't a scratch.....

And recently I saw the pictures of the damaged UNSW....lol...that wasy funny....

and funny stuff happens all the time with hail storms....

Yes, I did see on the news there was a fire down the south coast. Can't remember exactly where, but obviously it's not a bad one, we would smell the smoke and it would be all over the news if it was a huge one.

Personally I would love to see some rain on Christmas day. Not a huge deluge, but just a nice shower.

absolutely, but at least we're getting more rain than usual, hey, but that's still not enough! we're still in drought.

yes mamaneenie, thank God for the cooler summer. i just hope this isn't going to prolong the summer though. (as in receiving the hotter period later down the months)

Apparently the fire was at Jervis Bay, they were on high alert and the wind turned lunchtime yesterday, taking the fire back on itself and lots of backburning done around the town. They did however move a whole heap of campers to the air force base.

Waiting on the cool change, but its not due till friday night. Its to hot, and I have to cook two chickens and a tuckey.........for tomorrow.
