  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Of the bands that I've been listening to lately, one that has caught my eye for a rather special sound is Hot Hot Heat. They have a rather unique sound, defined by Steve Bay's often frenetic vocals, their use of the hammond organ, and a keen ear for rhythm and melody. Songs like "Talk to Me, Dance with Me" exhibit this strong sense of melody and direction, with tight harmonies and a fantastic, danceable rhythm. On my word, as soon as I get whiff of Hot Hot Heat coming home for a gig in the Seattle area, as they live up here as well, I will have to go see them. Unfortunately, as Dante (their guitarist) left the band, this might be a little bit, but hopefully we will see them continue in the future.

Hot Hot Heat definately finds their own niche in the world of music. Anybody else here enjoy them? Probably my favorites numbers lately were "Talk to Me, Dance with Me", "In Cairo", and "Bandages".

Anybody else around here into Hot Hot Heat? I intend to see if I can post some short blurbs on a number of other bands, maybe to give them a touch of exposure and such things, to bands that I find unique and refreshing in the world of music. Nothing for the big bands that I'm sure you've all heard about, but smaller, lesser-known bands such as Hot Hot Heat.

As an artist, I would definately appreciate somebody throwing this sort of support my way, so if I see another artist worthy of notice, I'm going to give it to them.
