  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I found an awsome horse "club" somewhere on this forum, but now can't seem to get to it again! Anyone know where it is??

Great to hear about your horsey experiences and loved ones!

I am doing a college paper about horse businesses. Could I ask you guys to share your thoughts on some of the following questions?

1. If you were looking for a barn to keep your new horse at, what are the most important things you would consider to help you choose between the couple of nicest horse boarding barns in your area?

2. What do you look for in a riding coach (qualifications, how well they ride fthemselves, past show success etc)?

3. What's your favourite coulour horse?

4. How much would you pay for a horse if you had a good place to keep it etc. and went out looking to buy one?

5. What do you look for in a good riding school - or, what would put you off coming back to one you visited before?

Any info would be really appreciated - doesn't matter if you own a horse or not, but please say if you currently own, have owned, or have never owned one before when you answer.

Thanks very much!

ok, heres some info, hope its helpful
1) The most important things i would look for in a new barn would be daily turnout, clean stalls, preferably an indoor arena, jumps (but i like jumping) and i'd probably want to know what they feed
2) In a riding coach, i'd want someone who's had alot of riding and showing experience. They probably should be certified, but some of the best coachs actually arent.
3) My favourite colour is probably a Blue Roan. they are so rare and gorgious!!
4) i'd probably spend more than most people because i'm starting to do some bigger shows. it would probably be up to around 30,000 Cdn. max.
5) I'd want a riding school that has a few/the options for having private lessons. and when there are group lessons, not having lots of students is really nice. 5 or 6 max.
hope that helps you!!
