Hope for The Hurting

There is hope for the hurting
For whom Christ they are serving
Misfortune undeserving
With trials so disturbing

No promises of relief
No assurance they’ll be brief
Even if Christ they believe
And forgiveness they receive

Is this meant to be a joke?
At misfortune do I poke?
Have I now, now have misspoke?
Is this meant now to provoke?

No, it isn’t!

Belief we have in Jesus
From sin He now does free us
We walk with Him now daily
And serve Him we do gaily

Results in persecution
And sometimes dissolution
Sometimes from institutions
Which have the wrong solutions

So, what’s the hope in all this?
It’s not a life now of bliss.
With Jesus now beside us
His love will serve to guide us

He’ll give us strength and courage
So we’ll have much endurance
And He’ll give much assurance
That He will now mature us

So don’t give in to trials
Be now the Lord’s disciples
And share His love with others
With sisters and with brothers
