When we are devoted to one another, then we are able to put others before ourselves only if we love others. Just as our ego and pride tries to tear us away from our blessed Savior, our pride and ego also puts walls and barriers between us and others.
To remove the walls and barriers between us and others, we must pray for strength to wash away the darkness of ego and pride.
When we come to the Cross of Calvary and kneel before the pain and agony of Jesus, it is at that moment, that He reaches down and touches us so our vanity is washed away. As we give up our all to Him, He replaces what we give away with His love.
To truly honor each other, we must first give ourselves to Christ.
