Honesty Mudgens
Physical Description:
Race: Human Gender: Female Age: 16 Ht: 5'2" Wt: 98
Hair: Blond Eyes: Brown Skin: Fair
Honesty Mudgens is a charming waif with a winning smile and thick unruly blond hair. Her brown eyes shine with intelligence and dance with mischief, but closer examination also reveals a certain sadness. Honesty's petite body is trim and athletic. Swathed in red, which is her favorite color, Honesty presents a pretty picture.
She wears a long red skirt, belted at her hips with a band of elaborately tooled multi-colored leather. Honesty also wears a peasant blouse that is beautifully embroidered around the ruffled collar and cuffs. Over this she has a red, form fitting, sleeveless doublet. In her shoulder length, thick blond hair, at the nape of her neck, Honesty wears a big red barrette to try and keep the wild locks contained. She also carries an odd looking cane.
Personality:
Honesty is a sweet kid who thinks she's tough, a dangerous combination for one who lives on the streets. A bumbling, lovable thief and a bard who cannot sing, she has had a hard time finding her niche in life. However, Honesty has found her place as a genius tinkerer. She can disarm most traps and pick most locks. Honesty is very skilled with her hands, but her feet are very clumsy. She is proud of her abilities, having helped in many thefts. Honesty is loyal and feels obliged to her friends in the Blue Hand, a local thieve's guild. While Honesty is a great tinkerer she is a poor combatant so she avoids conflict of all kinds whenever possible.
Background:
The child of peasants, Honesty did not have a good start in life. Her parents died when she was a baby so she was taken in by an aunt and uncle who already had many children of their own. Honesty's "siblings" made her feel she did not belong and she was curious about the world outside her village so she was glad to say goodbye when her uncle sold her to a local noble when she was ten.
The noble was a dishonorable, abusive man so Honesty ran away. She came to live on the streets of the capital city of Eyrel, Meu’sak. Honesty became quite resourceful, stealing to eat. She learned every dark alley and every rat hole of Meu'sak. One day she was 'discovered' by the Blue Hand, a small but ambitious thieves' guild in the city. They, at the urging of their soft hearted leader, adopted Honesty and taught her to sharpen her wits and her skills. The little rogue was found to be a bumbling pickpocket and a clumsy burglar, but she was nearly unmatched in lockpicking and had a natural ability for tinkering. Honesty is extremely adept at disarming traps as well.
Recently the guildmaster that took in the pitiful thief was 'usurped' by a hungry young man who took over the mastership of the guild unchallenged. He wanted to kick Honesty out, but the elder guildmembers challenged that, seeing the young woman as their mascot. So, with the help of an unwitting holy warrior, the new guildmaster accepted a job for Honesty. He's hoping she won't come back.
